Man… I have to vehemently disagree. Every bit of the money is on screen. You’re living in a past where the die hard fanboys freaked out over a picture and tweet that made y’all go nuts about how cheap jt looked, then could never admit you were wrong once the show actually hit screens.

Well… that’s because it’s NOT the Peter Jackson world. And holding a TV show to the standard of an Academy Award Nominated and Winning film is ludicrous.

This is its own thing and its own interpretation of a massive story. You either gotta get over the fact that it’s not Peter Jackson’s LOTR or stop watching.
Or..maybe because it's 3000 years earlier.
Compare our own world in 1824 to today... only 200 years but it's a completely different world.

Anyone watched S2, Episode 1 yet? It's on my list for the upcoming weekend. I honestly had a little bit of trouble getting into this last season, but I'll give it another try.

Not yet but I plan on watching this weekend. I personally liked the first season. It had some odd scenes like the slow-motion horse riding but other than some odd stuff like that I enjoyed it.

WOW. Just watched S2E1. Every drop of budget is on the screen. How the hell can Amazon prime keep this up?

By the way I was disappointed to find out Nazanin Boniadi quit the show.

Yeah ive been meaning to ask her about it, but she did speak on it on social media. She's heavily involved in charity (big on the rights of women in Iran) and I imagine the grueling schedule didn't help, but yeah, I was surprised too.

I understand mileage may vary for some in regards to the storytelling or faithfulness of this show, but the only reason anyone can say it looks cheap is they’re drunk on haterade.

This show looks like the entire budget of Amazon is on screen on every episode.

I actually like the 2nd season so far -- the character of Halbrand looks much more the part (you know what that is) than he did in season 1.

I don't get the "cheap" comments either.

Nazanin Boniadi? Hmmm, I remember first seeing her in a little 2007 film called Gameface. ;)

I’ve definitely been entertained thru 2 episodes. It’s not a binge worthy or even binge type of show, but I like the characters think they do a great job of recapturing a world from the movies that I love spending time in.

Enjoying this season so far. The more I watch the show the more silly the preseason one bashing looks. All those people bashing it based on rumors (like cheap FX).

Yeah… this is a rock solid fantasy show. It’s kinda like watching “Sauron Begins.”

Much better than Dragons Season 2. Even though I know where everything is eventually going, they’ve done a good job of making me actually care about a lot of these characters.

Yeah, any thought that this show has bad effects is just bad fanboy hate.

Also  at:

Elrond and Gladriel make out session...amidst the orcs. Who had that on their kink checklist :D

Episode 7 was pretty damn epic and heartbreaking. Best part was Elrond’s catapult kill of one of the Uric.

This second season blows away anything they’re doing on House Of Dragons. Huge improvement from S1.
