Interesting when it's bad (in your estimation) blame Graves.

When it's good - congratulate Whiz.

(They didn't make this move without thought. Wait for all things to play out before calling anyone stupid or smart)

Based on his other posts in the thread I believe this is sarcasm. Monty?

How in the blazes has Jamar Chaney not been picked? the guy will be a superb talent at WILB in the NFL.

I was wondering the same thing, apparently scouts think otherwise. I sure as hell wouldn't mind picking him up with our 6th...

Well im not an insider in the NFL trade scenario's but i assume most trades are made by the GM and he might get Whisenhunts in take on it but its the GM that usually makes these calls. Also ive not actually gone on record saying any of our picks have been Whisenhunts calls so i dont know where you get that from CC. I do think Whiz is an excellent judge of talent.

And my believe that Graves is not the sharpest tool is not something ive come up with today its a belief that has been built over Graves long reign where he has made several stupid moves.

And finally im a fan of Skelton i just think giving a starting CB and a 6th is too much to give up.

Yes i was joking about FIRING Graves but i do believe we made a bad move in giving up both McFadden and a 6TH.

Guys, this happens every year. Each year the Cards pick someone you have never heard of and pass on a more well known player (i.e. Hightower and Toler) and each year people here bitch and complain. Then after the season you like the guy. The coaching staff and scouts see more tape than you can ever dream of seeing.

Everyone falls in love with some guy and when we don't take them we're pissed. I think Graves and Whiz have done enough to get the benefit of the doubt on all of these picks.

Seems like all the smart people have turned up for the live thread. Im not one for one bashing players too much but McFadden got roasted way too much and i really like Toler with the opportunity he's gonna get. I think we'll draft one of the remaining CB's and we'll probably pick one up as UDFA. That should be allright rosterwise i think and i like the move made to get John Skelton.

You are all over the map on this one. This post and then a fire Graves post.

All of which you can say without the personal insults, that detract and diminish the argument.

I know i was a bit frantic in typing that one when i wrote it. I do genuinley believe that the coaching staff believes in Toler as a starter though and i do like his potential. Whether he is gonna make is an unknow because ive not seen him enough. The Skelton pick is a good IMHO as he as nice developmental QB. We can still pick up a decent CB in the draft and draft one UDFA as there are few decent ones still on the board at the mo.

two thoughts:

Graves is the epitome of a consensus guy. If Whiz felt strongly in the opposite direction, he wouldn't have done it

With Whiz new contract, there was added personnel "pull" in there as well -- again, if Whiz didn't want it, it wouldn't have happened

Wow what a day 3

a olb with a torn knee
traded a starter and a pick for a 3rd string QB that won't see the field.

Who is doing the Jager shots over there?

Probabyly true. Whoever made the move im not the biggest fan of it. I like that we moved up for Skelton cause ima big fan but i just think when you give up a starting CB that should be enough for a late 5th round pick but obviously the Cards didnt and thats all that matters really.

ESPN with a real cool Sports Science feature on Skelton.

His ratings were off the chart in regard to quick decision making, accuracy and arm strength with two rushers running at him which made it more legitimate.

Adding that 6th round pick to the trade bugs the hell out of me also.
