He compares to Trung Candidate. Anyway, here's the skinny from the War Room:
Tatum Bell
War Room analysis
Strengths: Is a speedy, tough runner with upside if he continues to add bulk and run hard. He shows very good burst to the hole. Has the speed to turn the corner consistently and shows a second gear when he breaks a run to the outside. He has adequate vision and shows the ability to change directions without losing much in transition. Is elusive in the open field and is a huge threat if he breaks through to the second level. Has a lot of potential as a receiver because of his speed and running skills after the catch.
Weaknesses: Lacks size and strength. Needs to put more bulk on his frame. Lacks great patience as a runner at times. Has terrific speed and potential both in the return game and passing game but lacks experience. Has decent hands but does not show a great feel for route running. Is undersized at the point of attack as a pass blocker, and his technique in that area of the game is marginal.
Bottom line: Bell is a three-year starter who came on strong late in his junior season and continued to improve as a senior, averaging six yards on 213 carries with 16 rushing touchdowns. He always has had terrific speed, but he finally began to run hard and shows better vision between the tackles last season. If he continues to improve his toughness as a runner and if he can add some bulk to his frame, Bell has the speed and running skills to develop into a very solid change-of-pace backup in the NFL. He could fill in for a long-term injury situation, which is why he’s worth taking a chance on early in Day 2. Although he does not have great experience in the return game, he has the speed to develop into a fine special teams player and possibly a kickoff-return specialist.
