I hope he does!

No. No. No. No. No. No. I don't want any division rival even have the potential of getting better if he turns it around. No no no no no. Never. I don't want Cody Brown going to them either, and I'm positive he's a bust, but there's always a chance.

Don't see how he would make Seattle any better. He doesn't hold the clipboard any better than Whitehurst and Charlie is much more experienced.

On what planet is Charlie more experienced, at any level?

Certainly wish him well but don't understand him at all. I am more upset being left with Derek wide and high Anderson as our starter.

The entire thing handled poorly in my opinion.

Because Matt "2 yard passes and no leadership or confidence" Leinart is a much better option?

Charlie has much better hair though.
When football doesn't work out for him, he could always turn to acting. He's a ringer to play Barry Gibb in "The Bee Gees Story"...

Where did I say that? The team didn't all of the sudden sour on Matt this preseason. We should have been better prepared for this. Derek Anderson is not being better prepared. McNabb or Campbell here and I don't give a rats ass that Matt was released.

All the blame goes to Leinart. The team gave him a full offseason as "the guy" to regain his confidence and he completely flunked it.

I understand this is coming from someone who has already been to the Official Name Change Thread to pretty please his way into a name change to DAfan3. Are you going to ask for MHfan6 by the bye week?

When asked about the release today Whiz said it has a history. Tells me Matt was not his choice and that is fine. Get a legit starter and don't create this distraction a week before the season.

He's not a Cardinal anymore and I for one no longer care about him in the least. Even if he goes on to become an all-pro. They gave him every chance to do something here and he didn't. He was surrounded by talent which included three of the best WR's in the NFL and a good, not great OL and yet he was less than desultory. He has solid coaching and all the money he could have wanted but he was a bust for us and as result was cut. That's that.

I wonder what you will be saying if we go 1/4 to start the season?

0/5 and you'll want Whis and Grimm's head. No way can we fire them as they both make too much money.

And so it goes.

I've got them starting the season at 2 - 3, but still finishing at 10 - 6 and ready to roar into the playoffs with a full head of steam.

The "legit starter" was supposed to be ML. Who knew he'd regress. This didn't happen "a week before the season".

Concerns about Matt's ability did not start this preseason. Whiz claims the release has a history so that pretty much confirms this. We should have been better prepared.

Well for me it's not really a sad day just a very disapointing one. Sucks it came to this but here we are. When Matty Heisman was drafted I thought we at the very least had a guy that would finally bring some stability to the position. I never thought he would be the next Peyton Manning but thought he'd fall somewhere in between that and being the next Jake Plummer which I don't think that was really setting the bar all that high. But damn if he didn't even COME CLOSE to the low mark of my expectations and it just sucks.

It would be nice to have a good run of years where there weren't serious questions about our QB year in and year out. You guys know the questions all too well: Who's going to start? Is this guy completley washed up or does he does have something left in the tank? Does this guy even belong in the NFL? Is he going to cut down on the turnovers this year? Does this guy know how to read an NFL defense? Wait a minute, I thought this guy was our punter?? Ect, ect. It's been a rough 20 years.

I'm at the point in my Cardinal fandom where I'm ready to just let the myth that we will someday have a true, bonafide, legit franchise QB go and accept that we are who we are and always will be- the mecca for the journeyman QB.
