Concerns about Matt's ability did not start this preseason. Whiz claims the release has a history so that pretty much confirms this. We should have been better prepared.

Yes there was a history, but the history didn't culminate until Anderson won the starting job. We went after Anderson because the staff wasn't sure of Matt. Matt was given his chances to succeed. He didn't, so a change had to be made.

Well for me it's not really a sad day just a very disapointing one. Sucks it came to this but here we are. When Matty Heisman was drafted I thought we at the very least had a guy that would finally bring some stability to the position. I never thought he would be the next Peyton Manning but thought he'd fall somewhere in between that and being the next Jake Plummer which I don't think that was really setting the bar all that high. But damn if he didn't even COME CLOSE to the low mark of my expectations and it just sucks.

It would be nice to have a good run of years where there weren't serious questions about our QB year in and year out. You guys know the questions all too well: Who's going to start? Is this guy completley washed up or does he does have something left in the tank? Does this guy even belong in the NFL? Is he going to cut down on the turnovers this year? Does this guy know how to read an NFL defense? Wait a minute, I thought this guy was our punter?? Ect, ect. It's been a rough 20 years.

I'm at the point in my Cardinal fandom where I'm ready to just let the myth that we will someday have a true, bonafide, legit franchise QB go and accept that we are who we are and always will be- the mecca for the journeyman QB.

I get the bit about the unsettled QB thing... though, we did have a helluva run with a future HOFer. How many teams over the past 4 years can say that?
DA is young. Who knows D... there is a chance he can surprise the world and emerge as our long-term solution. We'll soon fnd out.
In the meantime, we're back to back NFC West Champs. Been to the dance and almost won the darn thing. I've got faith in Whiz that he will find the recipe that will keep us in contention, with or without a journeyman QB!!

;)

Hope he lands on his feet. The relationship between him and coach is just toxic at this point and for his sake and ours, he needed out

Do not feel sorry for Matt. His signing contract has more money in it than you may make in your life time. Heck of a way to fail and get paid millions for being a failure. He got paid more in his two years than I got paid in 21 years in the military and not one was shooting at him. I knew the score when I signed up and it was the best 21 years of my life. Mat leaves a millionaire and is pouting and angry. Grow up Matt.

He's not a Cardinal anymore and I for one no longer care about him in the least. Even if he goes on to become an all-pro. They gave him every chance to do something here and he didn't. He was surrounded by talent which included three of the best WR's in the NFL and a good, not great OL and yet he was less than desultory. He has solid coaching and all the money he could have wanted but he was a bust for us and as result was cut. That's that.
Great, Great post FF.That pretty much sums up his time in AZ.

My point is that Leinart takes the knowledge of the Cardinals playbook with him. I don't care for that knowledge to be going directly to the Seahawks or 49ers.

Of course, the Cardinals don't play the 49ers until week 12, by that time enough will have been adjusted so that it will be less valuable. Seahawks at week seven follows the Cards bye week, so they can make adjustments there also...

Yes, but they didn't let him keep his wrist band, so we should be OK.:D

Wish him well obviously something personal between the whiz that we will probably never know. He will land on his feet still better than some abs out there someone will give him a shot soon.

As far as the Good Riddance sentiment goes, at this juncture I can only hope it doesn't apply to DA by those who express it now

Me too. Of course they'll turn on Anderson in a heart beat. I've seen it happen with numerous players. Talented and Not Talented.

It's really funny to see the same people who thought players on the 2001-2003 rosters were great and worthy of long term extensions now defend McGinnis by saying he didn't have any talent to work with.

But hey we're fans, we're entitled.

Failure of DA will not turn me into a hater, as you said, others will do so because that's what they do. I have no emotional investment in him (Fitz is a different story..lol). I'm really able now to just watch the season unfold and roll with it. I believe Whiz will do his best to put the team in a position to win and it will be his efforts combined with the players that will determine the teams success or lack thereof.

If it was a combo of the FO and coaching staff that made a colossal blunder it will show up soon enough, if not, Hallelujah!!!
