Tony Scott is in talks to remake the 1969 Sam Peckinpah western The Wild Bunch, Deadline reports.

Set in 1913, the original film starred William Holden, Ernest Borgnine, Edmond O'Brien, Ben Johnson and Warren Oates as a band of outlaws in the final days of the wild west. There's no word yet on whether or not the new Warner Bros. version will reimagine the setting or if it will remain a straightforward period remake.

I refuse to believe anyone would try to remake that.

Movie is so overrated. It got this inflated reputation because the violence was somewhat ahead of its time. Doesn't hold up, IMO.

It's a violent Western. Big deal.

Why not re-make it? Remake would probably be better.
Ya, movies are so much better these days. Not.

You won't find a director as good. You won't find anyone as good as William Holden.

To me anyways. :)

Is that more than one anyway?

William Holden can't act worth a damn. He was pretty good when he was alive though.

'American Psycho' remake being prepped by Lionsgate

Patrick Bateman will be back to menace the populace once again.

Lionsgate is working on a remake of the 2000 film "American Psycho," which was based on the Bret Easton Ellis novel of the same name, an individual with knowledge of the project confirmed to TheWrap.

No word on who will inherit the role of unhinged yuppie Bateman from Christian Bale. Lionsgate has, however, tapped Noble Jones, who served as a second unit director on 2010's "The Social Network," to pen and direct the revamp.

Really?! It's only been 11 years?! C'mon, Hollywood !! The Mila Kunis sequel wasn't bad enough? You have to remake the original ? :|

Hollywood is devoid of any originality. They take an older movie, rearrange some of the plot lines and attach the same title to it and call it a movie. Some change things totally around like in the Hitcher remake, making the protagonist a woman and a guy gets ripped in half. Others, like Friday the 13th, think they're clever when they change the plot entirely and then some, like the Stepford Wives(which I was stupid enough to see in the theater), completely crap all over the original. Theater crowds are getting smaller and smaller and Hollywood can't figure out why. Someone tell the emperor that he is indeed naked.

Such an underrated and overlooked movie. its far too early for a remake, the movie still holds up and was friggin awesome.

Never even heard of it.

:thud:

Directed by Joe Dante (Gremlins) and starring Ethan Hawke and River Phoenix.

It was kind of dwarfed that year with Goonies, The Breakfast Club, Teen Wolf, Commando, Weird Science, Silverado, Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome, Back to the Future, Pale Rider, D.A.R.Y.L., Falcon and the Snowman, Rambo II, Rocky IV, Witness, and other films in the theaters. :D

Scarface Remake Nabs Chilean Filmmaker Pablo Larrain To Direct

http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Scar...ean-Filmmaker-Pablo-Larrain-Direct-42226.html

Are you ready to say hello to your little friend again? Okay, probably not, but a new Scarface is on the way. Universal has made this a top priority for a while now, grabbing bits and pieces from the 1932 version as well as the infamous Pacino/De Palma redo. This version was said to keep the Latin American roots from the ’83 Scarface, but shift it slightly to the world of Mexican drug cartels.

Death is too good for these scumbags. Why don't we just remake every movie ever frickin' made?

Less of a big deal, but still stupid.
