God Whiz takes this up a notch every year.

This is just like when he made him fight for 2nd string, if I was Matt I'd just take a dump on Whiz's car and youtube me doing it.

It's not like it could be any worse lol.

Sorry guys, but I don't think we've seen the last of Leinart. Our supposed 1st team OL made life miserable for Leinart. Also, Leinart didn't have Beanie on the field. Anderson will look even worse playing behind that line. Add Hightower to that mix, & Anderson will realize he was set up. Conversely, Leinart will be playing behind the real starters & will have Beanie in the backfield. Come Saturday night, Anderson will even more pathetic than usual & Leinart will throw for 150 yds in 1 1/2 qtrs. DA will NOT be our starter on opening day - take it to the bank.

I hope your right because I have more faith in Leinart starting for us than DA. But, I really believe this drains the last amount of confidence he had in his body as a Cardinal. Think about it, do you really believe Matt expected this decision this morning? He's confidence was at an all time low Monday night as he stood by himself on this sidelines & this has to be mentally taxing on his mind. He has no trust in the HC now, to believe in him as a player. Throw in the fact they love Max Hall & drafted Skelton & I can see Leinart being released.

As someone who follows the game and has decent scouting capabilities, I am embarrassed at this moment. I feel as if I put all of my eggs in one basket and dropped them on the floor. I'm done kidding myself....Matty is done in Arizona.

Do we get MAtt's seat in the hot tub next to all those pretty ASU coeds?

I'm shocked I tell ya', shocked! Honestly, for the last three years it was Coach Whisenhunt I put my faith in. I didn't know what he would do between Warner and Leinart and I'm not sure what he is going to do now. I do know I trust him to be a better judge at what it takes to win than I am. Whatever plays out, I hope Coach looks like a genius.

The question for 2010 is...Do we tank for the best QB in the draft or appease the fans since I still think this team is capable of going .500.

You can't be serious.

Since you posed it as a question, I'll pose one to you, how do you think Fits, Wilson, Whiz et al would respond to that suggestion?

Stay reactionary, ASFN.

Fair point but honestly, if any set of fans had a right to be reactionary during this preseason, it's us. Between the scathing anti-Leinart analysis from the national media to the inept play of our first team offense we had a legit reason to sneak a step closer to the ledge. And that was before this morning's shocking announcement.

Maybe nothing has really been decided. BUT, no way (IMO) does Whiz make this QB switch without a damned good reason. I think it's understandable for us to assume he's as concerned as we are. Knowing how this move is going to look to the world, I'm pretty sure he'd have annouced this some time ago if it was all just part of the plan to see what he has in DA.

Then there's no reason to give Matt snaps on Saturday, right?

Yeah, I know, that's a head scratcher given the conclusions many of us are jumping to but nothing else really makes a lot of sense to me. Granted, the conclusion I'm jumping to doesn't hold a lot of water but what's the alternative? I guess we could just wait and see what actually happens but that's just crazy talk.

:lmao:

Maybe people ought to pay attention to what he's said in the past about competing for jobs, and making sure that few are comfortable. And attention to the fact that he doesn't treat game three as a simple dress rehearsal for the upcoming season.

Whiz uses ALL meetings... ALL training... ALL practices... and ALL pre-season games to evaluate his squad.

He really isn't that hard to understand if one pays attention. He has a plan.. a strategy for implementation... and tactics to make certain he selects the best group. He's looking for talented, physically tough, and emotionally mature men to do one hell of a tough job.

The evaluation only ends when he signs off on the final 53.

Highly unlikely but makes more sense than benching Leinart after almost no playing time (not even close to DA's snaps) and really not bad play. Just isn't making sense.

Way premature thread! Matt HAS NOT been demoted. Whiz said as much people are acting like starting a preseason game means your the starter....NEWS FLASH it doesn't mean a damn thing! No one on this board knows what Matt can or can't do as none of us have actually seen the offense (the real offense not the preseason whiz doesn't give a crap offense) perform in a real game with a real GAME PLAN!! Way to premature running a guy out of town.

I don't think we have much of a right to be reactionary. Inept offense, QB question marks complete with Leinart demotion, hysteria throughout the nine worlds. That's happened in every Whisenhunt preseason, I think it's time to get used to it.

Personally I feel this move has more to do with DA earning his spot. He's making more than Leinart this year. Derek Anderson has been wildly inconsistent and the rooks have been doing a good job.

Question for all of you? How are any of us to know if Whiz didn't talk with Matt and let him know he wanted to see DA play against the Bears starting D to see if they even want to keep him on the roster? I mean seriously Whiz maybe told Matt hey you have done well and done what I have asked you to do your the man, but we really like both of our young QB's and want to see if DA is worth keeping on the roster or if we should keep the young guys. Oh and by the way you know Fitz, doucet, beanie would not be starting with you anyway and with the way the line played against Tenn I don't want to take the chance you get hurt in a meaningless preseason game so I will throw you in the game in the 2nd and 3rd so you get your reps just not against their starters...you cool with that? Matt "no problem coach just get the line figured out so we can still have a great offense!". Now of course all this is conjecture but we all know stuff that is reported isn't always factual or represtative of the actual situation.

Somers reported that Leinart walked off the field after practice alone & with his head down & then didn't talk to reporters. I'm sure Wiz & Matt had a chat about the situation but to think Leinart didn't expect to start and isn't more mentally exhausted from today is naive IMO. I hope he comes out a differant man on Sat but I really believe he doesn't trust his HC at all & wouldn't be suprised at all to see him suck bigtime in the Bears game.

According to Calvisi who was there he didn't talk to reporters because no one asked him anything. They were to busy trying to talk to Anderson and Whizenhunt.

Again we don't know that Whiz did not already talk to Matt before all of this and let him know what was going on and whether it was anything for him to worry about or not!

Do you really think Matt didn't expect to start Sat & isn't crushed regardless if they had a talk or not? This isn't a vote of confidence for Leinart at all & just adds to the pressures of him producing. Again, I think Matt wanted to be the starter in "dress rehearsal". I wonder how many other QB's that will start in week 1 isn't starting this weekend if healthy?
