IMO based on this week and the season to date you have no choice but to bench Leinart until he gets his head on straight.

Its funny how Warner had ZERO PROBLEMS finding open WR's and getting them the ball. But yet it has been a struggle for Matt to do that in all three games.

I agree Shane, Warner looked really good out there today. What has happened to Leinart?

Exactly. Matt needs to get his head on straight. He also needs to concentrate on football only. I saw where he will be hanging out with the morning DJ's on KISS FM on October 12 in Casa Grande at some concert called Phooson. Why he is doing that I don't understand, especially since there is a game on October 14.

Warner simply is the better QB at this point. If Leinart starts next week, I will be hostile.

I think the coaches' tinkering with Matt's game (which is very much needed) has screwed him up. He looks completely lost out there and isn't even playing with his natural ability. He's overthinking everything and very hesitant.

At this point, Kurt gives us the best chance to win, and Matt sitting and working on the footwork and the reading of defenses without the pressure of playing is the best for his development.

Good for us all the way around.

I still can't get over how completely different the two QB's looked. Warner was cutting through that defense like a hot knife in butter. Leinart's knife was more like a spork!

Yeah, Matt just looks like everything is coming to fast. Let him perfect and get comfortable with Whis's system while Warner can come in and contribute immediately. Hopefully this doesn't mess with his confidence. Matt still has the ability to become a great quarterback, and I think that he still will as soon as he gets comfortable with the system.

leinart seems to have david carr's problem. he thinks to much instead of just throwing the ball. when warner was in there he was taking his 3 or 5 step drops and the letting it fly. leinart is always double clutching and holding the ball to long. leinart waits until the reciever has already made his cut and then it's too late. warner has the ball in the air before the reciever turns to look for the ball.

I believe the "seperation problems" our WRs have is directly related to the seperation problems we have Leinart's hand and the ball.

The one defense that I would have for Leinart is that it seemed we ran from the pro set when he was in and then from the gun set when Warner was in. Obviously the gun set with the "hurry up" makes it easier to identify the defense because it holds up substitutions. As far as play goes...you have to give the edge to Warner today. He got the ball out quicker and with more confidence. HOWEVER, Leinart is the future of this team and he can't learn and develop like he needs to on the bench. By not playing Leinart you are hindering his development for the future. The decision to play Warner shows the confidence to win this year and do we really believe that it is a possibility?

Personally, Leinart is the QB of this team and should remain so. He has to work through these problems eventually or he won't ever grow as a QB.

McCown wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed.

Apparently neither is Matt. Thats three out of three weeks where we have heard three different things about Matts mental ability to pick up the gameplan.

1st week: Whiz says its his fault he had put to much in the game plan for Matt to handle it all.

2nd week: Whiz states that he simplified the gameplan to make it easier for Matt.

3rd week: Whiz states again that there was just "to much for Matt to focus on this week" thats why they used Warner.

I get the distinct impression Whiz isnt as impressed with Matts football acumen as othe rpeople have been.

Again, a sure fire way to ruin a young QB is turnover in an organization. Smart or not, memorizing three different offenses and three different coaching philosophies in three years is tough and even more so when you are adjusting to the NFL. This will probably be the most difficult time in Leinart's career because he has had to flush most of what he learned in year one and start over.

You do mean two different offenses in 2 years right? its just an excuse many young QB's have eceled at the NFL level and not needed scaled back Gameplans or constant remarks from their coaches that there is to much to focus on or to big a gameplan etc...... etc......

Im truly starting to question either Matts dedication or his football smarts. I think Whis is too. I hope its dedication.

This is only Matt's second year. How do you figure he's had 3 different offenses to learn?

matt is the future of this team, we need to look forward and not back.

If what Matt is showing is the future then we better damn well look back. Dont you find it odd that as soon as Warner takes over WR's are miraculously open and have seperation?
