I agree with that. Kobe and KG I think compliment each other. That freaking team would be scary as all hell IMO. However, the Lakers don't have enough to get a deal like that done. They have a bunch of guys in their starting lineup that would be coming off the bench with most NBA elite teams.

No way they get KG unless it's some crazy 3 way trade type scenario.
who knows. i agree the lakers have nothing to give them that will compensate. so you are right. I know the lakers want him though. after all.......the t-wolves are better off building around garnett. I would not trade him away yet if i were them.

another stat about rebounding:

Tim duncan:

game 1) 16 rebs, 8 offensive
game 2)11 rebs, 2 offensive
game 3)19 rebs, 5 offensive
game 4)11 rebs, 3 offensive
game 5)12 rebs, 2 offensive
game 6)13 rebs, 8 offensive

so he averaged almost 14 rebs, almost 5 offensive. thats rebounding for you folks.

that doesnt matter when he should have had 15 a game. how about when the rebounds of missed free throws went right past him and into the hands of duncan. his rebounding needs work.

arwillan, do you even realize how many guys have EVER averaged 20-10 for entire playoff run? Do you realize how many guys do that in season? I wish Amare would average a few more rebounds as well. However, there are very few guys who do what he does now. Your comparing a 24 year old to Tim Duncan? Come on. Ask most GM's in the league and they would kill to have a 24 year old with Amare's talent.

they cant control it, he has an opt out option this year and has confirmed he will excercise it.

im not saying he isnt special and all that BUT the reason he gets so many rebounds is because most teams forget the offensive rebound and get back to prevent transition buckets for the suns. sure he has loads of talent, but he has to get the fundmentals down as well. he also ought to work on defense. you have to walk before you can run, and you have to rebound before you can run if you know what i mean.

no way is he in minnesota this year. he has better places to go. he said it himself "thank god for opt outs"
we'll see. there's a chance they may trade him to an east coast team. I'm sure the knicks would love em.

Don't most 24 year olds? The Suns are not alone here. I would say that 99% of the league wouldn't trade Amare if Amare was on their team. You just can't. Look how long it took the Suns to get a player of Amare's talent. I don't want to wait another 20 years to get another legit 20-10 guy who will on occasion get you 30-20. Been there done that.

Exactly. He isn't going to come out and demand a trade and be nasty about it. I don't think that is KG. By letting everybody know that he will opt out, he is saying the same thing without PO everybody and coming off looking bad. That doesn't mean MT are not willing to let him play out his contract but that would be STUPID. Then again they don't have a good track record under KM.

Hi guys, we need some sanity in our trade suggestions! I mean we won't get other teams' franchise player for Marion as the core of a trade. ;)

You mean we can't trade Marion and Banks straight up for Dirk and Howard?

Are we all just trying to come up with the silliest trades involving Marion that we can?

How about Marion, Banks, Jumaine Jones, the #4 pick for Kobe and Luke Walton?

How about Marion, KT, Piatkowski and the #4 for Lebron?

How about Marion, a ham sandwich and the #4 for Ray Allen and the space needle?

How about Marion, a bag of microfiber 'new' basketballs signed by Kyle Macey for every back court player on the Pistons?

Or what about Marion, a pass to that new walk out thing at the Grand Canyon, for Tim Duncan and a gift certificate to the River Walk?

I'm sorry to say that, but it must be the most exhillirating pipe-dream trade I've seen this year.

Why on earth would the Magic give us a young franchise player and (arguably) their second best player for Marion and all our draft picks. Because they feel REALLY bad for not having draft picks when people in Orlando REALLY enjoy the draft?

You know their mascot is Stuff the magic dragon and not Puff, right?

Yes in case we were trading Marion for a big , Magette would be a nice replacement for either Marion or Bell.
He can defend, shoot and gets to the freethrow line very well.

Maggette enters his last year of contract, IIRC, but the Clippers try to extend him.

Edit : well after checking, it seems that he's under contract 'til 2008-2009, with an opt-out option after next season.

I am going to leave the Garnett thread since that is a beast into itself.

Nobody can handle Duncan...PERIOD. The are only 2 guys that really handle Duncan. One of them is old and on the way out and the other used to play with him and already retired (David Robinson). Other then that, there is nobody that can guard Duncan.

I always get blasted for this, but I continue to say it. Kwame Brown's only usefullness is that he can guard guys like KG and Duncan. They have a tough time against him.

Tim averaged 23.8 ppg and 12.3 rpg this season. In the 4 meetings Tim and Kwame have had with Kwame as a Laker, Tim has averaged 16.5 ppg and 9.25 rpg. Duncan can be handled, but you need a massive body in there that won't back down on him, and will push him back out on his shots.

Go ahead, make fun of me.

Sarunas Jasikevicius for Banks might be mutually beneficial.

And, while we are at it, a more substantial trade is my favorite one of Marion for Richardson and Pietrus (s&t).

If Nellie comes back, he likely will want to do both.

Jasikevicius is horrible. Besides the softness and shooting, he amazingly slow.
