From a salary standpoint, yes, it works straight up.

Just got bored and started playing with trade ideas on RealGM. Here's an intresting one... doubtful though.
Phoenix Gets:
Michael Redd
Brian Skinner
6th Pick Overall
Milwaukee Gets:
Kurt Thomas
Marcus Banks
Boris Diaw
James Jones
Milos Vujanic
24th Pick
29th Pick
Yes.

Here's a deal I kinda like for both sides.

Raptors Acquire
Boris Diaw
Marcus Banks
Suns Acquire
Jose Calderon
Kris Humphries
Why Phoenix Does It
The Suns finally get a fresh, young PG who will spell Nash and ultimately be his heir apparent. I see no reasons why Calderon can't flourish in this offense, and see him doing everything Marcus Banks was SUPPOSED to do.
They also acquire a pretty decent, servicable big in Humphries for depth purposes.
Why Toronto Does It
They acquire possibly their starting SF/PF (Morris Peterson is a free agent) and get a guy who's at worst capable of being their sixth man off the bench. I forsee him starting there with certain matchups.
They also get a quick PG who could wind up doing half decently in Toronto.
Thoughts? Don't be too brutal.
How about trading Diaw, KT, Banks, and a 2nd rounder for Jermaine O'Neal and Marion for Gerald Wallace and Raymond Felton.
We get rid of 4 big contracts, get 1 in return of a good player, and replacement for Marion and understudy for Nash.
Some will say Marion is not worth that much. I say the man averages a double double, a candidate for All NBA Defensive Team, 3 time AS, and a Top 5 NBA SF. Wallace and Felton would be just right.
I have read other forums and 95% of fans value marion bigtime, just take a look at my seattle ideas in the lewis trade thread. For getting into the playoffs marion is one of the kings imho and that is what does it.
I think you're underestimating how other teams feel about Marion. It seems that Suns fans don't rate him as highly as most other people to me.I can't believe how badly some of you guys are overreading the value of the Phoenix Suns players. Don't you guys think that other teams realize that Shawn Marion is making $16 million per season, and his offense is quite limited?
Joe
I have not read this entire thread but how about the Suns trade both their number ones and Banks to move up in the draft?

Don't you guys think that these other teams saw mBoris Diaw last season? Is strange value right now is definitely in the red.
Steve Nash isn't going anywhere. That leaves the Phoenix Suns with two players with positive trade value. I'm talking about Amare Stoudemire and Barbosa.
Shawn Marion is movable, but he's not going to fetch a boatload of young talent. I don't think anybody is going to give up another All-Star.
Jermaine O'Neal? How in the world does he fit into the Phoenix Suns style. Not to mention he has a massive contract.
Joe
He is easily one of the Top 15 players in the league
As a general rule, the best trades are the ones that the other team suggests rather than attempts to steal somebody from another team.
has any team contacted phoenix about a possible trade for marion?
