Wow, last night we watched The Field Where I Died, and what a great episode that was.

While I always loved Fox Mulder, the character, I always thought Dave was a lousy actor, but boy did he do an outstanding job in this episode!

See, I think it's a great episode - but it's just not The X-Files kind of episode.

Kind of like the Duchovney-penned "The Unnatural." I thought it was a great 45 min piece... but it wasn't X-Files to me because it only had Mulder and Scully for the too short 10 minute bookend scenes.

I guess my point is, I don't like FWID because it wasn't X-Files to me.

There's where you confuse me. How is The Field Where I Died NOT an X-Files to you? It's got multiple personality syndrome, past life regression, not to mention a crazy religious cult.

That practically SCREAMS X-Files! :D

Plus, it's one of Mark Snow's best television scores...

I'm watching an episode with Giovanni Ribisi and Jack Black right now.

All about lightning and one remedial student with a crush on his teacher/boss' wife.

Great episode!

Kate, I am sorry, but FWID is about as classic X- files episode as it can possibly be, as Chap correctly pointed out.

Kate and Mike- your avatars suck.

People can't handle the truth.
The truth causes panic. Panic costs lives. We control things by controlling the information.

Sir

This one is on Sci-Fi this morning, so taping it. In fact, there are about 5-6 episodes on today, so I'm taping a few of them.

Man, if I had my own DVD burner attached to my tivo, i wouldn't need anyone to burn me anything :)

I tried recording them on VHS for ya again, but it just won't work right.

Anyway, if they are playing it in order, you should see the Musings of A Cigarette Smoking Man, and Tunguska/Terma- all among my favorite episodes. Vasiliy Spasoff (I think that's his name) is an awesome character, and a great tag team partner for Krycek.

Uh, and I love when CSM sticks it to the WMM in Terma, after WMM accuses his of being incompetent.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh, I love the X- Files!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bahahahahha nevvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvver!

We seek out the truth and bring it to light. Unlike your avatar which hides it in the shadows and manipulates it to fit his own agenda.

THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE!

One of the more underrated episodes, imo. When I first saw it freaked me out that someone could control lightning like that  . The Arcade seen in the beginning was freaaaaaky!!

And it's sweet to see Giovanni AND Jack Black

His own agenda? His only agenda is protecting the people from what they can't handle.

Weird. I just watch Tunguska/Terma last night... I seem to be going through Season 4 rather slowly this time around...

Saw Closure tonight...wow, that was amazing...I almost had a tear in my eye at the end when he was hugging Samantha...

I forgot about that episode...very powerful.

Everyone who has their DVD's. go watch 'En Ami' (season 7) and tell me your thoughts. Or dont watch and tell me your thoughts. :)

This is one of my favorite episodes. Even though it lacks M and S together, the CSM/Scully interaction just pulls me in. This is definitely one of my favorite CSM and Scully episodes.

William B Davis definitely knew his character. Some episodes had shown CSM to be growing soft, but I think this just showed how ruthless he really can be (even if in the end he took the high road.) He really was the biggest factor in this whole X-File thing, imo.

I almost teared up when Mulder read his sister's diary. Man that was some good acting by Duchovny. This is one of my favorite David-acting episodes. Even if I didn't like the whole "walk-in" crap.

Not quite sure what you're implying here, Chap.

The music helps improve Duchovny's acting? Or the music helps to further that particular scene, overall?

Does it matter? The music at the end of the ep makes his acting AND the power of the scene magnified.

I just watched Two fathers/ One Son, and I am so angry- I get angry every time- why did they have to kill the syndicate? :hulk:

Sure, Dianna, Alex and CSM survived, but it still sucks!
