Perhaps I should expand my horizons. I guess I'm just not much of a tv watcher anymore - I just like to stick with the shows that I know are good.

You should watch Transformers.

From Wikipedia:
Veronica Mars was living any teenage girl's dream life in the sunny fictional seaside town of Neptune, California in Balboa County, north of San Diego. Her life changed forever the night her best friend Lilly Kane was murdered. The town felt that the case was closed after Abel Koontz, a former employee of Lilly's father whom he had fired, confessed to the murder — it all seemed to make sense. However, Veronica's father, local sheriff Keith Mars, suggested the actual murderer was Lilly's father, software billionaire Jake Kane.

This all started a ripple effect on Veronica's life — she had a problem that was bad enough, and it just got worse after that. Now that Lilly was gone, Veronica had nobody. She was now ostracized by "the 09ers", Neptune High's wealthy "in-crowd" whom she was once a part of — not because she was wealthy, but only because she was best friends with the Kanes. Days before the murder, Lilly's brother, Duncan Kane, whom Veronica had been dating, dumped her for no apparent reason. About two months later, Veronica was drugged at a party and woke up without her underwear, leading her to believe she was raped. Veronica's mother mysteriously skipped town soon afterwards, leaving her alone with her father.

Veronica's father started a private detective agency after losing his job as sheriff, and she now helps him out with his new job after school. However, she often gets a little too involved in the mysteries — which upset her father, as he worries about her safety like any good father would. Striking a delicate balance between math homework and undercover stakeouts, she struggles to solve the mysteries that have plagued her life over the past year. Turning her grief into fuel, she is determined to outsmart, outmaneuver, and out-snark all those who stand in her way.

Basically it's a really cool show. If you're interested in watching I can mail you two dvds with the episodes in .avi or perhaps someone with the season 1 dvds would be willing to lend them to you.

Tonight I am going to watch Season 6's Christmas episode called "How the Ghosts Stole Christmas." The episode starts on Christmas Eve, and ends on Christmas morning.

This episode is a delight to watch, and it's even better when actually watching it on Christmas Eve/Christmas Day. This episode has all the elements of why I love the X-Files: Mulder/Scully banter, humor, good storyline AND it ends with Mulder and Scully exchanging gifts together on Christmas.

Anyway, I just wanted to share cuz I really like this episode a lot.

Merry Christmas :)

It is a pretty good deal, they also had these same sets for the same price a couple months ago.

I still have S5 or S6 available if someone wants to borrow/buy them.

My son and I recently started watching season one on Netflix. Great stuff. I really wanted to watch this show when it was on TV but I was working and going to school full time and never watched any TV.

Sometimes I need to pause the show and describe the technology to my son (12). He's a little lost when they talk about beepers and microfiche. :D

Oh my gosh, what an epic bump!! I just went back and re-read this entire thread!

I am so freaking jealous that you're watching this show for the first time. Please keep us updated on your progress, your likes/dislikes, etc.

I seriously need to do a marathon of this show. I haven't seen any episodes in a super long time.

You know, I've been a lurker for over a year now, but this thread is pretty epic. Surprisingly enough, it started out with you, me and Stefan and then just grew from there.

I was also surprised by how many posts were NOT about the X-Files. :)

I started rewatching the series last summer with my fiance--she is a huge Supernatural fan so I convinced her to try out X-Files since that is the precursor to the later show. She likes it, but she's not as into X-Files yet. We're only halfway into season 2 and haven't watched an ep in a few months.

Oh, and you never did do your episode reviews...

Haha, I know. Darn life.. always getting in the way!

I seriously am thinking about watching the series over again. So many great episodes. I might have to post more frequently in this thread now that it's bumped :D

I'll have to work my way thru this thread in chunks, it's quite a beast. And I don't want to run into any spoilers. I'll get thru it all eventually though.

So far I've been impressed with the guest stars. Seth Green and Felicity Huffman where so young!

Outside of the dated technology this really holds up well after 20 years.
