Bill Ingram: A front office source was told no point in meeting with Aldridge…he’s sold on the Spurs… awesome fit if he lands @San Antonio Spurs

Oh crap. Hopefully, just another rumor. All I know is it would be hard for me to be away from my kid when I know I had a chance to play much closer to where he lives. That to me is the biggest advantage in this entire thing.

If The Rocket Guy covers the Rockets maybe those are the feelings of that organization.

SA has always been the favorite. PHX sure did surprise/intrigue him with the signing of TC but playing close to his children may be too much to overcome. Remember Matt Williams turning down playing for a contender to sign with a rookie franchise because he wanted to be closer to his kids.

The only thing that could work in PHX's favor is if the tweet was correct that SA will need to clear more cap space or TD will have to play for $5M a year who do they trade to clear up enough cap space?

The spurs are still the favorite but again I don't buy that he has made a decision. How in the hell does a guy from hoopsworld (where this guy works) have better sources that Woj and every other major news outlet?

All the twists & turns in LaMarcus Aldridge's day, & I'm told nothing changed about lay of his free agency land: Spurs, Suns, Mavs out front

He works for USA Today. I don't think anyone knows what LMA is going to do (including LMA)

I could be a reporter too.

Help me build a follower base to start with and I can post assumption and conjecture all over the place too.

I bet you 95% of what these sports reporters actually try to sell as inside info is just their own conjecture and assumptions (eg Bledsoe to be traded because the Suns extend Knight).

Very rarely do they get real info pushed to them, mostly Woj who makes a living of writing positive articles about all those that provide him with info and ciritical articles about those that refuse to give him info.

The whole sports reporting seems to become more and more of a PR war machinery for teams.

Suns could be rubbing shoulders with the Spurs for all I care...
But if Aldridge picks Spurs, it doesnt matter... not even if it was by coin flip.

I wonder if the Mavs shouldn't toss us a first round pick at least if we trade Markieff Morris to them in a sign and trade for Chandler.

If not it might be better to trade Markieff plus Tucker for capspace and assets so we can simply sign Aldridge and Chandler.

I am an optimistic person, and that may have got the best of me. At this point, I don't see LA happening for Phoenix. Too bad. But very impressed with how our front office has handled this. And I think we are going to take a decent step up next year and be competing for the 6-7 spot. Portland will be taking a big step backwards, I hope some of the others will stumble a bit.

Why?

The longer it takes the better I feel since we were the underdogs going in and San Antonio the favorites.

Come play for Phoenix.

When Kurt Warner signed with the Cards he led them to the SuperBowl.
When RJ signed with the Dbacks won the World Series in 2001.
When Barkley was traded to Phoenix he led them to the NBA Finals.

All these top free agents chose other teams.

Be that person and choose Phoenix.

My hunch is that for once reports are true--he's agonizing over the decision between us and San Antonio.

If I were the Suns, I'd have Jerry C or Steve Nash place a phone call--hey, everyone needs a closer, right?

Jerry Colangelo is the best closer I know.

Agree. Jerry always told Sarver to call when he needed help. Time for Sarver to take him up on the offer.

I want the Suns to get LaMarcus Aldrige but I want the Suns to keep Markieff Morris as well.

Just looked up the stats for Markieff Morris. He has improved each season for four seasons. Maybe he improves more this season if the Suns do not get Aldridge. Last season Markieff average 15.3 PPG and and 6.2 total rebounds. It sounds like a player on their way up at age 25.

Don't discount the fact that his greatest improvement was after his brother arrived. Now his brother is gone--I'm not ready to believe he's going to continue on the upswing.

We shall see. I don't think stats accumulated over four years lie even with the brother factor. My expectation is Markieff will be better even without his brother. I think it became a distraction. However, I want the Suns to get value for him if they move him.

I'm still amazed that McDonough was able to trade Marcus Morris and others and get a second round pick in return. That trade looks like the Suns should have given up pick(s). Still shaking my head on this one.

But didn't Marcus come over, after only their rookie year? Also, wasn't Marcus supposed to be the one with the better offensive game when they were drafted? Amazing how the roles got reversed.
