I thought yesterday was our trap game....and I was right. It was good to see Kolb win the game for us, and yes he did win it for us. Alas we now focus on the Rams and Thursday night. Short week makes this very important, I was glad to see Miami really make us work because it tells the team there are no cupcakes. The Rams beat the Seachickens handily, not just with defense though. The player that scares me the most is their kicker, rookie Greg Zuerlein....HOLY CRAP CAN HE KICK. Not many people give credit to kickers, but Jeff Fisher loves this kid and he is by far their most potent offensive weapon(even more so than Amendola). If the Rams get to the 40 yard line they will get 3 points. The Cardinals need to be very ready for another dogfight, luckily they have had three so far this year and been victorious in all. Also after Thursday it doesn't get any easier since every team is 500 or better and none are CUPCAKES.

I expect the Rams to give us a double dose of Jackson and Bradford. We have done a fair job of controlling Jackson of late, (but that was with Dockett in the lineup). I would think that we try to contain Jackson somewhat, and lean heavily on getting to Bradford. He gets rattled some when he gets hit, and that might be the way to derail their offense.

Meanwhile, we need to run the ball Thursday, come hell or high water. The Rams give up a lot of rushing yards and we positively need to capitalize on that with Williams and Powell. We need to get on the run early, get it established, then take advantage of play action to slow the rush on Kolb. We need to concentrate on offensive sets that feature Kolb under center, with a back behind him, and use that back as a receiver out of the backfield occasionally.

There's no such thing usually as a division trap game or there shouldn't be, you should NEVER take a division foe lightly, "you shouldn't take any team lightly as yesterday should of proven up again" but ESPECIALLY a division opponent, playing twice a year means everyone knows everyone and you have no idea when they'll come up with something devious that works against you, you should NEVER EVER take it easy against someone like that ESPECIALLy with a new coach who has new angles on what to do against you.

No we need to take this for what it will be a war.

We have to deal with their big RB and if there QB is hot he can really be good. We really need our defense to come up big in this game. The gurus are still not giving the Cards the love that a team that is 4-0 deserve. One guy on ESPN this morning has Seattle as the best team in our division. Seattle, SF, and the Cards could all come out as division winners. Our first 8 games were terrible last last year and our last 8 were great. Things can change on a dime. Last year Kolb starts and gets hurt early and then Skelton come in and gets hot. Changed 180 degrees this year. You never want to say you are glad a guy got hurt but since Skelton was not hurt bad it probably changed our entire season when he went down. One think is for sure and that Kolb has to have picked up a ton of confidence with this start. He may have even forgot about his concussion. He does not run backwards very often and usually it is necessary. Words from the coach must have got to him. This morning on the radio the announcer was making fun of Kolb being 4-0 while the N.O star QB was 0-4. Of course it takes a team to win a game. He did not go into that.
