IF AND WHEN HEALTHY...
That was weak. This show has walked its course. It needs to come to a resolution soon.
Why? Because literally nothing happened story-wise in the battle between Rick and Negan?
And after the latest collasal blunder of leadership decisions by Rick that should have gotten everyone killed, can someone designate Maggie the decision maker at this point?
My favorite thing about this was the tiger though. You'd think that as Negan kept monolguing ad naseum one
Of his peeps would have been like... yo... what's that tiger doing over there?
Seriously... That was beyond idiotic.
If this would have been Episode 8 before the break, I think it would probably would have made for a really good mid-season closer... but for a season ender, it didn't end the season. Finales are supposed to close up the major season arc while opening up arcs for next season. All this dead was... extend the story-line, again, now going into it's 3rd season. That just screams to me there just ain't a lot of story left to tell... which is a terrifying idea considering they're talking about 20 seasons.
bottom line... this would be THE BEST SHOW IN THE WORLD TO WRITE FOR (the job security is insane and the green envelopes will literally never stop coming) but an incredibly frustrating show to watch.
Good fun episode, next season should be wild. I couldn't believe the junkyard stuff. Eugene's lie is going to bite him in the ass. Dwight must play mole moving forward.
only sasha is dead in that whole firefight?
I'm just happy they didn't end the season with:
The stupid garbage pail people turning their guns on Rick and his people. Or Negan getting ready to bash in Carl's head and then blank.
I agree with Cheese that this entire episode should have happened in episode 8 and not as the season finale.
I didn't get all of Sasha's flashbacks. They really seemed odd and distracting. I understand they wanted to give her more screen time in this episode but why that?
Otherwise it wasn't a horrible season finale. It was way better than all of the other trashy schmuckbait episodes this season. Again I'm just happy they didn't end the season with some horrible cliff hanger that leaves you scratching your head and saying WTF was that!.
There were a bunch of Alexandria "Randoms" dead (akin to a Star Trek Red shirt) but it appears that none of the original Rick crew aside from Sasha died. I'm fine with that.
I did like that Carl was the first one to take advantage of Sasha's zombie plan. He quickly realized the opportunity and took the first shot.
That has to be one of the worst gun fights in TV history, right?
The thing is with the ARCs, negans story has several arcs and they just segwayed into the war. I dont think its an extension of story line just because the same villain is involved. The initial story is what is this horrible force out there, then being crushed and abused feeling helpless by that force, then gaining confidence to stand up to that force and now a war. The finale was not as amazing as others but it set the next season up well as being pure war between the groups and the rise of hilltop/alexandria/kingdom as one major group.
This. I normally would have fully expected them to end on Garbage Pail kids pulling the gun on Rick and leaving us hanging. I thought the story arc wasn't about beating Negan. It was about forming the "resistance" against him and all the groups coming together.
Did ANY of you really think that it would end with Negan being defeated? I never thought that for a nano-second so why would I be disappointed in the way it ended?
I thought it was a fun episode too. My problem with the episode was more around the ridiculous fire fight. I mean, they panned to the entire groups which had guns to their heads and the Garbage Pail kids had them dead to rights. Then all of the sudden, Sasha pops out and then all of Rick's folks get the drop back on them?
That really annoyed me but I liked how the rest of the episode played out. I really hope that they get some juicy revenge on the Garbage pail kids.

Tara should have met her demise though. Can't believe she's around for another season.
Can we at least all agree that Rick is the worst decision maker on TV?

No. Not even by a long shot. Insert any Fear of The Walking Dead character in that sentence.

hard to argue with that statement.
