While I like the idea of the take it or leave it contract method in most cases, it will not work in this case because of two words - Eugene Parker.

Fitz agent is without a doubt the shrewdest most methodical agent in the world. This guy is so methodical he makes Graves look Usain Bolt. He wont send back an answer to a proposal for weeks at a time. This guys waits until the last possible second to squeeze the last bit of leverage he has.

I havent been so sure about Wells myself as well for some time now. Not sure he has the passion to play the game unless he is getting the ball 20 times every Sunday.

I also agree that the NT depth chart is very, very conserning. Not even a undrafted free agent was brought in. I find that whole position and its depth chart to be very odd???

Mitch why do you even waste your time talking about Fitz and what you would do? You have already stated that it is a done deal and Fitz is as good as gone. So really whats the point?

People can agree or disagree with Mitch but lets not get personal.

There definitely is a point since Mitch is bringing about discussion :)

Right you are. I sat up straight when Mr. Parker introduced Neon Deion at the HOF ceremonies. That spoke volumes about the man.

The more I learn about him the more impressed I am. Because of him I think there is something coming with Larry's contract that is going to be one, big . But it won't come until Parker and Fitz have every single I dotted and T crossed. In their favor.

Buckle up.

Mitch, gotta disagree with you. We can't spend every last penny we have and hope to make it through the season injury free. We also need to have some cash to throw at Fitz and not back load every penny into future years. No need to play the "CAP HELL" game unless you are sure what you are doing will put you directly into the SB. We have a young team and the team management is planning for the future.

Have patience grasshopper. We have a plan.;)

First, thanks for using the term cash flow instead of cap space. You get it.

I dont buy the whole keeping cap space for injuries thing, injuries every year to every team, including ones at the cap level, yet they still make it work.

But concerning cap, you do need to keep about 3 mill left for the final cut down. Once the rule of 51 no longer applies you now have to pay the top 53 plus the Practice squad. So far people still obsessing about our cap our real world cap figure is actually about 10.6 not 13.6.

Exactly! Not only will Fitz deservedly get top dollar but the contract will probably have some wrinkles that he really wants including the continuation of the no-trade clause. There won't be any discounts like Peyton gave the Colts IMO.

Exactly! I was banned last week for being nauseated by the naysayers. That's ok, just went to other Cardinal forum, where my positive outlook towards the Cardinals was appreciated.

Nope. Not true at all.

Your words can hurt, sir.

Hey Mulli, you owe me a new keyboard...

Seriously, I LMFAO. Well played sir.

To Mitch, I would simply say wait a little longer before you get so worried. For me, Fitz leaving this season is simply not an option. Larry is unmistakeably the face of this franchise and for me, extending him is not an option.

Larry has the no franchise and no trade clause (btw thanks ESPN for the breaking news from 3 years ago <smh>) but the Cardinals are not WITHOUT leverage here.

Larry is in the final year of his deal, yes it's appealing to go into free agency where the offers will be off the charts, but theres also the risk of playing this season with no long term deal in place. That's a huge risk. If Larry has really bad numbers this year or worse, a devastating injury, it will cost him millions.

Larry knows that his career could be over in one play, it's that easy, so I dont think he's greedy enough to want to test the market in FA so he can go to a winner. I think he will re-sign before the season starts, it will just be a shorter term contract than we think, probably 3 or 4 years with a player option for one more year.

Dont worry, there are still moves to be made, I understand your concerns but you consistently blast this FO for going into "Freeze mode" when there's still a month left before week 1.

BTW dont believe everything Bickley says because he is extremely bitter towards the Cardinals and he exagurrates and plays up rumors that he hears as fact.

Did anyone point out we can't trade Fitz even if we wanted to?

Yes you could. Find the right contending team and Fitz would likely waive the no trade clause. The players just want that so THEY can control who they go to if it comes to that.

Bickley? Please. He's brimming with less information and insight than a pop up book from the dollar store.

(we can still insult Bickely in the new and improved positively positivity of ASFN, right?)

Yeah if the Pats offered a trade he'd waive it in a second, if it were the Raiders or the Bengals....eh...not too sure lol

So it was somewhat true?

Well, he was banned one day for making an extremely general comment that suggested that the people that continued to harp on our salary cap situation without paying attention to the wonderful information that Joeshmo keeps giving us were somewhat lacking in the mental area. At least I think that's what he said, he used asterisks so it's possible he was talking about the color maroon.

He was banned, but it not for the reason he said.
But you said his statement was not true at all. if he was nauseated by the naysayers to the point he called them idiots and then he got banned for calling them idiots doesn't that mean there is at least some truth to his post about being banned for being nauseated by the naysayers?
