ESPN can't go much lower than with their usual pandering and "news creation", but the Town Hall meeting reached a new low. It was on par with Jerry Springer. I watched 5 minutes , and unless the tenor of that farce changed dramatically , I saw enough. If anyone can explain to me, what public service that debacle provided, then I will re evaluate my perception.

I actually think that they, ESPN, think they're being impartial when they do nonsense like that.

FYI back on the original topic as others said, the marijuana test indeed WILL add to Vick's problems. Clayton is reporting that it will probably add a year to the time that Vick is out of the NFL on just the pending charge(the one he awaits sentencing on) and it's also been reported it will likely impact the charges Surrey County filed against him since it will influence the court.

Apparently one of Vicks' co-defendants had already failed a drug test himself for the same thing, pot, and he was at the time in the "special conditions" that VIck now faces, confined to his home during set hours, subject to random testing, after he failed his test he was immediately put in jail.

Vick is now confined to his home between 10PM and 6Am and if he fails another drug test, he will be in jail.

Clayton said the NFL hasn't made any official ruling on it because they don't have to until Vick is sentenced and they know when he'd even be out of jail to apply for reinstatement, but his sources indicate this will add a year at least to Vick's sentence thus delaying his application for resintatement at least a year.

Well you probably did not watch the ESPN Vick special yesterday, the people who are trying to turn this into a Racial issue are the they, the "They" includes ESPN for harboring that garbage, the so called panel of experts ESPN had yesterday, that were trying to turn this into a racial issue. By saying Bellicheck was handled nicer by the NFL, then Vick and the crowd that was whooped up in a frenzy are the they.
:embarrassment: Now I get it!

No, I did not see that show.

I misinterpreted your statement, and misconstrued what you were saying. It now seems that your statement's intent was the opposite of what I thought.

Probably will get flamed for this, but I think that it is too harsh.

When people can get 8 months for killing someone during a hit & run, this doesn't seem right.

If you get flamed, I get flamed.

I agree.

Over two years for dog fighting? Doesn't seem logical when compared to other more serious crimes against humans that get much, much less time.

I haven't seen the decision but I'm guessing the fact that he lied to the Feds initially is why he got such a long sentence? They gave him multiple chances to admit he was involved and he reportedly denied it until his "friends" rolled over on him.

I get what you are saying, but he didnt't kill just 1 dog and you have to figure in the illegal gammbling charges. So realistically, he won't serve the whole sentence and you are looking at maybe a month per count.

Agree wholeheartedly. His mouthpieces tried to make a shambles of that portion of the justice system. He got some really bad advice.

Thats excatly what it makes him. Especially considering he knows better with the terms hes under until being sentenced. It makes him a criminal who faces a stiffer sentence and a complete moron!

Agreed.

Being reckless and irresponsible is more of a crime then the whole smoking part of it.....see Ricky Williams.

You don't do any good towards the cause showing a lack of responisibility.

What if a person hit and ran hundreds of people over a long period of time?

People and animals aren't even close to being the same, IMO. I know that people treat their pets as part of their family and I get that. I just don't.

I am with you on this. In the end however, he got less that I expected. When the gov essientially gave up on his buddies in order to get him and they recieved 12 and 18 mo, I really thought he would get smashed. I am assuming that the gambling charges weighed heavier than the dog stuff, but this is still kinda crazy in my eyes.

Didn't he supply the money for most of the "operation" as well as own the land where the dogs were kept/buried? Combine that with his lack of cooperation and I can understand the sentence. Like others have said, he probably won't serve the whole thing anyway.

Just this week there was a show about a woman who caught another woman who had stolen her identity and ran up huge charges. The thief had a long history of this type crime, ID theft, forgery etc. The thief was sentenced to 44 days in jail and around 2 years probation. Go figure.

A few years ago I was at court and watched a guy plead guilty for molesting his stepdaughters for 7 and he got probation.

I was in court once, and there was this guy who was in the US on a work visa, got cited for two DUI's on the same night (with the same officer) with a foreign driver's license who pled "no contest".

He got a $2,500 fine and probation for 18 months.

I thought that at least he'd get his visa revoked and be deported.
