I agree Joe, but as many twists & turns this story takes you never know. Almost as bad as the Brett Favre saga with differant circumstances. Peyton could be lured in reuniting with his homies or may not. Hopefully this doesnt go past Friday or there will be dead Cardinal fans on our hands ;)

Have any of these "twists" actually happened, or are they just the result of EVERYONE guessing where he will go and announcing their opinions as "insider information?"

realfreemancbs: Bud Adams' plane is eight minutes from landing in Raleigh. [via Twitter]

Also reports that Adams plans for a full day. Bet the meeting is in 45 minutes. If the 6-hour meeting trend holds, that means they would break up around 5 pm AZ time tonight.

No announcement until tomorrow, I bet.

to be honest, the Titans probably make the MOST sense of everyone. He knows Munchak, they're in the AFC in the same division he's played in, he's got a running back one year removed from being an all-world difference maker, a decent o-line and they were 9-7 last year with an owner willing to spend money... oh... and it's where he's a GOD because of college football.

Denver makes very little sense to me, but Tennnessee could be the big fly in our ointment.

I don't see it. I don't think he would want to be in the same division and play Indy twice - that's so very Brett Favrian, and he doesn't seem to be that kind of guy. Bud will spend money, but he's an ass. Plus they are outdoors.

Not worried...but if he doesn't go to us I sure hope he goes to TN...I would hate the Donkeys to get PM.

I think the competitor in him would LOVE to play INdy 2x a year so he can shove his walking papers up their arse as often as possible.

Titans do have a lot to offer as far as a talented team , but some of the other people in that club just won't jive. I think Peyton knows where he going (not the Titans), but he wants the huge financial offer from the Titans so he can use it as a barganing chip when it comes to the contract negotians with whatever team he will eventually end up with. I think it just bumps up the pricetag is all.

Maybe, but just as much an argument can be made that he wouldn't want to be an Indy villain.

I'll hold out hope that Bud's dickishness is on full display today.

I've given up. Ready to move on.

The longer this drags on, the less I'll care when he chooses somewhere else. If he would have chosen Denver on like Monday, I would have been devastated. Now? Meh..

Bud will be on his best behavior tugging at Peytons college roots and a big checkbook.

Agreed! The more that Manning drags this out, the more I just want to move on with Plan B.

So the positives of Manning signing elsewhere include saving a lot of money, giving Kevin Kolb a chance to develop and John Skelton to compete for the starting job, and having a lot more cash available for free agency.

The fact that it has gone on this long most likely means Arizona is out. So now I'm more concerned about where the Cardinals are going to get someone who can adequately play Offensive Tackle.

MichelleBeisner: Things are quiet here at The Cards facility. Team source telling me they are still very much in the mix to acquire Peyton Manning.

Hoping they know something we don't.

Uh, you really think they don't?

I bet they do, but this Tennessee facility visit was a game-changer. They have to be sweating, but if they still think they are in the running, I choose to take that as encouragement.

However, this is the first time that my optimism has faltered.

Only if he signs in Tenn.

Peyton has said all along that he wants to stay in the AFC, but that he was open to look at NFC teams if they make sense. The cardinals make sense for him. However, so do the titans. They keep him in the same division for crying out loud. LOL. to me this comes down to whether or not the titans can afford him and are on the same wavelength as peyton is from fundemental standpoint. But the bottom line is do the titans want him. If they do they will spend the money and blow all of the bells and whistles. when you look at everything else a move to tenn makes the most sense for Peyton if you ask me....

Peyton hasn't said a thing publicly through all of this. EVERYTHING he "wants" is speculation.
I thought I heard him on the radio last week say he preferred to play in the AFC. Bill Polian just said on the radio peyton would rather play in the AFC. Maybe I'm wrong and I'm just hearing things. wouldn't be the first time. But from an unbiased perspective I think the titans have the inside track. doesn't mean they win the race...
