Alot of hose same arguments were made about Cam Newton, except he went to an Sec sxhool. I think I under rate Goff's arm he has a good arm.

I don't trust the system he is coming out of and 215 lbs hes gonna be getting hit by guys that outweigh him by 100 lbs all day just don't see him holding up

Agreed. Newton was raw as an onion coming out of college.

Sure, Goff is more seasoned, but he's looks like an artificial 215 soaking wet (combine weight) and his so-called small hands supposedly have lead to 23 fumbles in college according to the ESPN guys.

In the end, whomever they select is going to spend most of his time handing the ball off to Gurley in a conservative offense anyway. Wentz probably provides more of a threat as he can do something with his feet.

ASFN Rule #36: Don't ever listen to Bucky. ;)

Rule #37: never drink before posting on ASFN.

It's not my fault Stout followed his name & had 34 hot Guinness before coming here & couldn't comprehend that no Tech or Cal QB playing in the "Air Raid" offense has ever done flip in the NFL. ;):D;)

"Williams was selected as the fifth pick of the 1999 NFL Draft by the New Orleans Saints. Head coach Mike Ditka traded all of the Saints' remaining 1999 draft picks to the Washington Redskins to get Williams"

And how did that trade workout for them?!?

Better than for Cincy... I heard Doug on the Doug/Wolf show tell a story I had never heard of - before the Saints traded up to #5, then called Cincy with the same deal, who turned it down so they could draft Akili Smith.

If the 49ers are crapping bricks John Elway must be crapping bowling balls. He

gets screwed in this too. I never did see how Lynch was going to make it to

pick 31. Lynch has the tools to be a good pro.

I think the last blockbuster type trade that worked out was the Herschel walker deal??
The cowpies did well with the picks,...and Minnesota is looking good.......

Umm... WHAT?! You know that was 27 years ago, right? And that it's widely considered the most lopsided trade in NFL history, called "The Great Trade Robbery", and resulted directly in the Cowboys going to three Super Bowls and winning two, while the Vikings had Walker for less than three full seasons in which he never gained over 825 rushing yards for them?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herschel_Walker_trade

Minnesota got Walker, two 3rd round picks, and two late-round picks, for five players, three first-round picks, three second-round picks, a 3rd, and a 6th.

The trade certainly worked out well for the Cowboys, but the fact that Minnesota is "looking good" 27 years later doesn't say much about the trade working out well for them!

Did i miss a massive dose of sarcasm here?!?

The thing we aren't privy to when it comes to QB evaluation is their ability to process information and transfer it to on field results. There's a bunch of QB;s with the physical traits to be a NFL QB but if they can't process information into quick, correct decisions, they'll never be any good. See Jamarcus Russell vs. Tom Brady, Akili Smith vs. Russell Wilson, Peyton Manning vs. Ryan Leaf. The list goes on and on.

what Denver needs to worry about now.... is when the Niners call Cleveland and offer them five picks and colin Kaepernik for their #2....so they can take the next QB off the board.

Cleveland just signed RGIII. I highly doubt they're still in the market for Kaep

Still think San Fran has some definite motive to trade up to #2 and try to blow Cleveland out of the water. Cleveland may just turn them away though, needing QB themselves. Unless they like Lynch, and moving back to 7, picking up a pile of picks, and taking Lynch is sounding good to them.

oft injured RG III??.... Having Kaep, a QB with NFL experience to compete with RG III may look better to them than having a rookie behind him... not only that,...but considering their recent QB woes... having not one, but TWO young QB's...one who was a playoff QB...might make them feel much better about their future at the position.

I mean honestly...if Palmer had retired...and Keim got us an RG III......would you really be all hunky dory happy about our QB situation?? Honestly?

I just don't like the trade for the Rams. I'm not saying the top QB's in this draft aren't going to be good, but that is a LOT to give up when there is no John Elway in the draft. You make a move like that if you have a 100% sure thing like Andrew Luck etc...

The idea of a team getting those two guys at QB reminds me of that old saying, "Two turds in the hand are worth a lot of toilet paper."

but are u sure the wentz has proven to be the best overall pick?

he did play for north dakota state...level of competition?

yes he has great tools but is not enough to be a succesfull qb in the nfl

There have been many QB's not from big schools that have been very successful:

Ben Roethlisberger-Miami (Ohio)
Joe Flacco-Delaware
Rich Gannon-Delaware
Kurt Warner-N. Iowa
Tony Romo-Eastern Illinois
Blake Bortles-Central Florida

To name a few.
