But you don't have to pay SIX PICKS to get that guy. Look at the good-great QBs in the league, and what you will see is that you don't have to spend the #1 overall to get that guy.

This is a flat out desperation move made by a horrible coach-gm pairing that are close to getting axed, and a horrible owner who mismanaged every sports franchise he's owned.

Sure you don't but if he's the stud I think he is it will pay off whether it's Fisher or someone else.

The Rams have tons of holes on both offense and defense just like the Redskins in 2012. Looking at the Redskins in 2016 they still haven't addressed these holes. And to make matters worse their highly touted QB RG3 flamed out.

What do the Rams have right now? A great workhorse RB. Elite DL of course. But that's about it. Even if their selection turns out to be Andrew Luck 2.0 they aren't a threat anytime soon. Good quarterbacking is one thing but going all the way is a different story.

So I said even if their QB turns out great they are too weak to challenge for the crown anytime soon. Now imagine their QB turns out being another Gabbert, Ponder or Locker! Jeff Fisher would still keep his job smirking into the cameras like "Moving to L.A. called for a blockbuster trade you know..." :D

This move makes me nervous. Wentz has an excellent football mind....even Fisher may not be able to screw up this kids head.

it will be interesting now.....as other teams try and jockey in the draft to recover

Yep

I think most people here haven't watched him played because he played at a lower level. He's a good IMO.

Fitting that the Titans got to fleece Coach .500 after he fleeced them mediocrity for all those years

Good for them. I respect it. Its better than taking QBs in the 7th and crossing your fingers.

Seems llike a logical trade force both teams on the surface.. Rams desperately need a QB but have some good young talent, and Tennessee doesn't need a QB in a draft without a clear cut #1 pick and needs to acquire a lot more young talent.. definitely a good haul of high picks for Tennessee and if they really want a tackle a Taylor Decker/Jack Conklin type should be there at 15.

This might just be one of those Win?Win trades. Titans could package some combination of 2's and or 3's and move back into the back end of the 1st and take the highest rated IOL. WRs with the remaining picks.

Rams get the QBOF. Probably believe Greg Robinson will paly up to his draft status this year. Keenum can play until..... Rams could afford this thanks to the Redskins gift a few years ago. Sort of balances their roster youth out. Some of those pieces (Tayvon Austin) need to break out.

It's also a better chance of Paxton falling us if Keim thinks about taking him in the first.

I see this as a chance for Lynch to move up the board, if QBs go 1 & 2. I don't see him free falling. No one wants Cook/Hackrenburg/etc. in the 1st.

Good for them. I respect it. Its better than taking QBs in the 7th and crossing your fingers.

The Rams gave up way too much, but that's OK for Cards fans. The Browns will probably take Goff. So, fortunately, that should take the Niners out of the picture for either of those two QBs.

I get what you're saying but if he turns out to be great those picks traded mean little, that's the importance of a fabulous QB in the NFL. Now on the other end of the spectrum...we all know those ramifications.

Personally I think he's going to be a star & this puts the Lambs in contention in 2 years because they've got a great D & awesome RB.

Agree they made this trade because the rest of the team is ready to win now. They are a QB away.

I suspect the owner had a big part in making this deal. A great way to start the buzz in LA

I think this had to be a good part of the reasoning.

I didn't think the Rams would be able to trade up that far based on what they fleeced the Redskins for with RG 3 but they got it done for a bargain in comparison.

Titans challenge will be that they will have a bunch of talent (if they draft well) that will be coming up for new contracts at the same time.

This does mix it up and make the draft even more fun.

Since the Titans already have Mariota, pretty much all the risk in this trade is being taken on by the Rams. And, Goff or Wentz are both very risky as #1 picks. Personally, I don't see either being a franchise saving type of player, but the Rams must believe one of them is just that good.

Awesome trade for the Titans.

Sure it was, but the move still had to have some sort of approval from the football minds. We will see in 3-4 years. Let's not forget the Cards Hawks & Niners teams may look totally different as well.

A great QB dramaticly changes the face of an NFL franchise!!

The Lambs have been a mediocre franchise for years! No risk it no biscuit lol

Its only good from a PR perspective for the Rams. Having a stud QB will definitely sell tickets more than having a bunch of draft picks.

But still I am so shocked that anyone would give up so much, and also that anyone would ask or expect that much. Heck if I were the Titans, I would have been jumping for joy if I would have gotten only the Rams top 3 or 4 picks this year. Would much rather have a mid 1st and two more mid 2nds than the first pick, ESPECIALLY when you are going to gamble it on an OT.

From what I have heard this last week or two, Tunsil has a lot of ?marks to his game. They are saying that Stanley is the more complete player and a much surer pick for success. I just read a history of OLmen going in top 5, and their hit or miss ratio is right at 50%.

I personally would trade back for more picks in every draft if I could. I would be on the phone to every team and trade back as many times as I could from R1 to as many R2 and R3 picks I could garner. I am sold on the idea that it is quantity not quality that makes for a successful draft. At 50% success rate at best, it only makes sense.

Gotta love the Titans now. With a good young QB and all those picks, they should be in the playoff running for years to come.

I am sure the Browns are praying they get a good offer too.

Leaves Niners out in cold really unless they want to mortgage the farm and trade with Browns or overpay for QB#3 at the 7th spot.

Denver too, has to be reeling and wondering what their move should be. One of those last two teams will just have to bite the bullet and wait for next year.

I think Tampa's young QB Glennon's value just went up a tad.

Wow...six picks? Plus you are going to be hearing their name (Titans) several times in the first 3 rounds. Great move for the Titans.

I'm not saying it's a bad deal. I just think that the owner wanted to make a big splash to go along with the move. The Rams have had a ton of picks over the last few years and it hasn't got them to the playoffs. I think Wentz can be a good QB, and along with their D and running game, can get them there.

For all those who believe the Rams gave up too much, think about this. The Rams got a ton of draft picks in the RGIII deal, and have not taken the next step. Why? The have had continuity. They have the same coach. It is because they never were good at QB. Plain and simple. If you aren't good at QB, it is almost impossible to be a competitive team in the NFL. The move is a solid move. Whether they get the right guy and have a plan to support and develop him is secondary to that. The Redskins didn't make a bad deal for a QB, they just selected the wrong one. You give up whatever you have to in order to get a top QB. It is never a bad move. However, selecting the wrong one is.

That being said...the Rams will probably butcher the move and select Wentz over Goff.

The 49ers have to be crapping bricks.

They need a QB, and now the top two are likely off the board. Browns, Cowboys, perhaps even the Chargers could grab the other one now.

Could Paxton Lynch go at #7? Probably not, but this trade imo really screws the 49ers.

If I am a Rams fan, this trade would've thrilled me LAST year. This year? Not so much. I believe Goff and Wentz are at least a full level below Mariota and Winston as QB prospects.

How bout Colin Krapernick & the 7th overall pick to the Browns for #2? Then Chip can take whichever QB is still left. Does the value chart work for that?

I, too, like Goff best. Of course I'm the guy who didn't like Aaron Rodgers. On the other hand all the guys I've reached out to say they're going with Wentz. IMO Tenessee made out best regardless of how this plays out. I'm not convinced either guy is a franchise QB. Tennessee could have a better shot at a quality QB next year.
