If morant is likely to go 2 or 3, then the suns most likely will not be able to draft him.

It is less than a 50% the suns get one of the top 3 picks - regardless of their record.

I'm not sure what your point is. No team has a more than 50% chance of getting a top 3 right now.

I think Holmes is a more of a keeper than Oubre. I like Oubre a lot but I think we can find someone else who can provide similar production for us if need be but finding a backup Center like Holmes that is content being a backup is rare and we lucked into him initially. We can't allow him to get away. I don't see anyone else offering him a starting job so I don't see playing time as being an issue and if we can sign a real PF to play with Ayton then perhaps we bring in Holmes to back him up also so he and Ayton share the floor for a little bit.

I think part of the reason we don't see that now is because Igor is trying to keep things consistent with 1 big on the floor at all times and switching it up could be a problem with spacing because Ayton has trouble finding room for himself after our opponents adjust to him some so Holmes would only bring about more doubles on Ayton and likely more turnovers.

I would actually argue the opposite. Holmes will be less valuable than Oubre going forward. My argue is tied to the fact that Ayton will continue to develop, and Holmes contributions will be less needed going forward. Once Ayton figures things out a bit more, he'll likely play so many minutes that Holmes won't be needed much.

The Suns would probably be smart to dangle Holmes out there for playoff teams around the trade deadline. He might be able to net a late first rounder to a team like GSW, since he doesn't require any offensive touches really and he could help out their big rotation.

Oubre is better than Jackson right now, and is a better overall player than Warren. If Warren is the one to go (and it looks that way), then keeping Oubre should be a priority.

It just irritates me people act like if we want we can draft Morant or Zion for that matter.

My point is it is more likely we are going to get a player similar in value to Chriss in this top heavy draft, especially considering the Suns usual luck.

Well, we have as good a chance to get Morant or Zion as pretty much anyone else at the bottom of the standings, but I don't think people are saying we definitely will get one of them.

Certainly there are risks in the draft but it's not exactly playing it safe with trades and Free Agents. We've had a lot of luck with players such as Trevor Ariza, Tyson Chandler, Brandon Knight, Hakim Warrick, Hedo Turkoglu, Penny Hardaway and Rick Robey.

And across the league fans still bemoan the trades and FA signings that brought them Jerome James, Darius Miles, Rashard Lewis, Eddy Curry, Bobby Simmons, Ben Wallace, Allan Houston, Raef LaFrentz, Jon Koncak, Erick Dampier, Gilbert Arenas, Larry Hughes, Kenyon Martin, Jim Macllvaine, Brian Grant, Emeka Okafor, Vin Baker, Austin Croshere, Elton Brand, Speedy Claxton, Jared Jeffries, Big Country Reeves, Tim Thomas and hundreds more. And trust me, most players acquired this way cost a lot more than your typical draft lottery pick does.

I can understand that but so long as we have the wings that we do then I'd rate Holmes higher than Oubre come the offseason. I hope we can make a move to potentially fill a hole somewhere and ease up our logjam on the wing but until we move either Warren or Jackson then Oubre would be the odd man out since he's a free agent at years end. I would rather keep Oubre than Warren going forward but we need to find a taker for Warren to make that happen.

I'm taking salary into consideration when I say that Holmes is more of a priority to resign than Oubre also, he'll probably cost 1/3 of what Oubre will and we'll still be able to make other moves after locking him in. I know Ayton will get better but we should have Holmes in practice pushing him regularly so he doesn't slack off either. I think if we can add a little more depth to our front court then we'll see Ayton and Holmes share the court together as well. As Ayton gets better and his shot is falling it will allow Holmes to play inside with Ayton playing more of a "PF" on offense if we go with both at the same time. Right now they are the only 2 bigs we have so playing them together leaves us thin if they get in foul trouble or one of them goes down with an injury so it's not happening. I don't see a late 1st helping us nearly as much as Holmes will next year either. We haven't done well with late 1st's recently and now we have a depleted scouting staff so I don't see that panning out. Holmes' value to the Suns is likely higher than anything he can bring in a trade.
