Actually over the last 6 games the Eagles Defense was playing better then your Steelers over every measurable statistic and like you playing good teams over that span. Keep in mind they hadn't given up a passing TD the 6 games prior to giving up 3 int he first half against us.

While I don't think our defense is as good as yours I dion't think you are giving it enough credit either. What makes some of you Steller fans think that Parker is going to have a field day when Turner, Williams, Stewart, and Westbrook were all shut down agianst us over the past 4 weeks? Its called bias myopia. Thats 4 runners you guys would trade for in a second and we shut them down.

You guys did a great job against Turner and the Panthers duo. In a way, that's why I have more hope for Parker running out of the spread formation opposed to my preferred I. Atlanta and Carolina were running more from power formations. Your guys were too fast for that, shedding blocks and getting to them before they could pick up speed. Westbrook relies a little more on speed and agility. The Eagles tend to run more from the spread offense than the Falcons and Panthers; and the Eagles DID have success running the ball. Westbrook was running 4 yards a clip, Buckhalter 5. The problem was that they only ran the ball combined around 15-16 times. They were down too far, too fast, and Reid always prefers throwing the ball anyway. I don't see (hopefully), Pittsburgh being down 20 points going into haltime, and needing to abandon the run.

Going back to the Eagles D vs. the Steelers D for a minute, remember that they are two different types of D. Philly goes with the all out blitz alot more. 7-8 guys. Warner, who's great at the quick reads, just had to find the open guy and get the ball out. Pittsburgh normally brings four, and when we blitz, it's only five. The reason we've been so successful is not because of overwhelming the line, but athleticism, confusion, and exceptional coverage. Many of our sacks have come from good downfield coverage. You guys will get your big plays. You're going to hang some popints on the board, for sure, but I don't see 30 unless our offense just sucks that day and we leave you with shoort fields and lots of possessions.

we have lost more games in the most bizarre spectacular ways that it has almost become an art form,

Rooting for a team like Pittsburgh who has such a winning tradition and Lombardis hanging all over the place is easy

and doe's nothing but create the perfect environment for band wagon jumpers, because everybody wants to be identified with a winner

and i speak the truth and the truth is you have a winning tradition that makes it easy for people with low self esteem to attach themselves too

However to call cardinal fans bandwagoneers is just ignorant and is another reason why your team will lose, especially, God help you if your players have that attitude and belief

i had the good fortune to live in phoenix from 89' to 1995 and was a season ticket holder at sun devil stadium

preseason games in late august when it was a 115 degrees and 120 on the field
is no place for so called bandwagoneers

And fortunately for us, our coaching staff is not taking the Cards lightly. Read some of the press on Tomlin and you'll find out that he's preparing for this game like it's the toughest game on the schedule.

Me? I get to take the game lightly from the comfort of my livingroom.

And while last years game has no bearing on this Sunday we did show we can get to Ben and cause turnovers on him. That gives us confidence in the game plan and this combined with his poor Super Bowl showing last game and the fact that Wisenhunt knows what makes him tick shouldn't make you so comfortable.

The way I see it we have the best player on the field (Fitz), the better and more playoff/battle tested QB, and in my humble opinion the better coach. You can disagree but whats tougher? Taking over the Denny Green led Cardinals and taking them to the Super Bowl in Year 2 or taking Cowhers world champion Steelers. Please.

You should be confident but personally I love this match up.

I love this matchup as well, the only statement that I would disagree with you on though (other than your surprise that people from Pitt can read ) is your statement about Warner being a more playoff/battle tested QB.

As it stands right now Warner has an 8-2 playoff record and Ben has a 7-2 playoff record (and Ben has only been playing for 5 seasons). He's been battle tested all year as well, having faced top defenses for literally half of the season and helping win 5 of 8 of those matchups. I honestly think the QB matchup is fairly evenly matched. Both have been in these kind of games before and know how to handle the pressure, I think it'll be a good show.

I'll agree with you that Tomlin did inherit a very good team, but they did go 8-8 the year before he became coach.

Whiz is an awesome coach, Grimm is a wonderful assistant, but they did take all they learned from Pitt with them to AZ. I'm in no way trying to downplay what they've accomplished there at all, I think they are great men who took a talented team that had not been playing up to their abilities and coached up their strengths and did a good job of it.

Both coaches and coaching staffs are very good IMO and both HC's have done great jobs considering they are both second year coaches.

I'm not guaranteeing a Steeler win, but of all the teams in the NFC that we could have faced in the SB, nobody is second guessing our luck by getting the Cards.

I am putting together the numbers of the Eagles/Steelers defense with my boy Sando and will have those shortly as he will send them to me and he was the first to bring this to my attention.

My dad has season tix at Heinz, and if he would have gotten the lottery tickets, and didn't want to go himself.. you better believe I would be going. That's still a lot of money though... and unfortunately, I can't afford to dish out what those tickets are going for secondhand. This is twice though in 4 years we've been in it, so maybe one of these years it will work out for me LOL

I wish I could go to the game, had it been a few years ago I probably would have gone since my grandparents used to live in Tampa, but after my grandpa died my grandma moved back up here to Pitt. Having kids and a full time job doesn't make it any easier either lol.
