I'd love to see some creativity in our offense. Seems like that went down the tube soon as Haley left.

Wow he lost his starting QB and his starting RB. His defense is playing tough but they can't score.

Not his fault.

Exactly. Why fire a coach when he lost his two most valuable players?

Just remember Shane #11 believes in Haley like he's god & I guarantee you he will be pushing hard to get Haley back. I really believe it happens because of the inconsistant performances by this offense.

Well in that case, by all means bring him back... If Larry can land us Kolb AND Haley in one year, I say just fire Graves and make him the first GM/WR in the league.

All kidding aside.. Fire Graves still.

Haley is a detail oriented guy, who crosses every t & dots every i. I don't ever see him lasting anywhere for long stretches of time. Like a Billy Martin, he'll get results & then burn people out. I wouldn't want that type of personaity as a HC, but as an OC, he was very good. He pushed Fitz into being what he is today! Hell, bring him in next year as a wide receivers coach. Hell, fire Grimm & make Haley the OL coach!!!

Crazy. Polian must be pretty sure that they can bring Josh McDaniels in. The Chiefs won the AFC West all of a year ago.

Also, Dwayne Bowe is in a contract year. Depending on whom the Chiefs bring in, they might be looking at a complete rebuild.

He has a personality conflict everywhere he goes. Do we really want such a huge jerk as a coach? His success here was probably all Warner, anyway.

+1

Plus, he has a very abrasive personality that rubs a lot of people the wrong way.

Actually, I think he'd make a great college HC!

I think that Dave McGinnis would make a great college HC. I don't know if he's just not interested, or if he doesn't have the connections, or what. 60 years old, and apparently he turned down the DC job in Tennessee last year.

Also, he seems to have put on some weight since he was here:

Because McDaniel has done such a good job with the Rams offense this season?

If KC hires Mcdaniel, Pioli can start punching his own ticket out of town.

As for Haley, no chance. One of the biggest jerks in the league. I predicted he would flop in KC because he treats people like dirt. It happened even faster than I thought it would.

Isn't that kind of apples and oranges? McDaniels came in to St. Louis with a shortened offseason, no talent at WR, and a second-year QB who wasn't as good as everyone was saying. That combined with a complete meltdown along the entire offensive line and a brutal early schedule to get to what you have now.

Going to Kansas City, McDaniels would be re-uniting with his former quarterback and defensive coordinator. He wouldn't have to be breaking in a young player with three weeks of training camp. If McDaniels can't succeed in Kansas City, then he can't succeed anywhere.

wally is right--there's not much in the cupboard in KC. If Bowe reaches free agency and goes to St. Louis or Cleveland, they're stuck with disappointing Branden Albert and game manager Matt Cassell (Kolb can BE Matt Cassell if he really buckles down and gets one of those concussion helmets!) and a running back coming off a devastating knee injury. Apparently Piolo looked at the situation and understood that he couldn't sell his season-ticket holders on a dick like Haley (and let's face it--most successful head coaches are *****), and so sacrificed him in the face of a multi-year rebuild with both Denver and Oakland on the rise.

Clearly there is more going on over there then wins and losses. I would think any owner could understand why they are struggling this year, 3/4 of the team is out with injuries and he's playing Cardinal castoffs...

Haley's act must not have gone over well in KC for them to pull the plug that quickly.

Nothing a few RBs, WRs, TEs,QBs and OLs won't fix, but since that ain't gonna happen overnight, Haley gets the axe.

There last 5 drafts have sucked. Every year, post draft, the "experts" scratch their heads on their picks. Haley is the scapegoat and maybe he is a ********, but there aren't too many nice guy coaches in the NFL. It is their job to be *********.

BTW, Pioli hired Haley so to save his own ass, he is firing him. Now all he has to do is fire half that roster.

It is a minor miracle the Chiefs made it to the playoffs last year and even won 5 games this year.

I find it amusing the Romeo Crennell's defense gives up 37 points in last loss & he gets elevated to interim head coach!!! Sorta reminds me of Tobin & McGinnis after the 40 burger Dallas hit us with... "Hey Dave nice 40 burger you wanna be our interim head coach?"

It says alot about the relationship that you have w/ an organization when you are terminated under the circumstances that Haley was terminated under (injuries, no offseason). He is a jerk, plain and simple. It doesn't make him a bad coach/coordinator, but it is something that you have to take into consideration. I think Cardinal fans get blinded by the fact that Fitzgerald was successful under Haley's abrassive style, and don't realize that not every player responds to that type of coaching.

I'm not sure that we have a place for him, but Whis might make one as he seems to try and take care of his guys.

reported short list in KC is McDaniels, Fisher, and Ferentz (Iowa coach).

Both McDaniels and Ferentz have Pioli connections and Fisher is probably the best coach on the market.
