Well, one of us hasn't.

Alex Smith actually leads the league so far in adjusted yards per attempt, just sayin'..:)

If he isn't too costly he could actually be a good stop gap, perhaps. Better than Gabbert or some of the others that will be available IMO.

I am not an Alex Smith fan by any means but, with what will be out there, he isn't the worst option. If they sign him and draft a QB in this draft I won't tear what's left of my hair out.

And how was his adjusted after he returned to 'dink and dunk ' form 5 games into the season?

If he's the guy, fine, but let's be clear what his strengths are and not claim that when all monies are considered that it's a saving over CP.

Additionally, it's unlikely he'd accept a one year deal, while 2018 would be CP's last contractual year and we can then move to a QBOF.

I hear you. If they bring CP back and draft a QBOF then at least they will have ONE hopeful component. Although, as I've said before, I really prefer an entirely different QB room next year.

That I can agree with... no significant savings and smiths strength has always been a WCO style of play...but hell, even that would work for us as long as the WR gets past the damned sticks.
Really tired of seeing passes to guys three yards deep who are covered..when its third and seven

The Cardinals did their best to preserve CP’s arm this offseason. It appears his arm is toast. Everything I’ve heard is that the Cardinals have initiated that divorce. It sounds like AS would be a short term option. BA wants to draft a QB early if necessary, but doesn’t want to put all his eggs in a rookie QB basket.

I don't give a flying F what Arians wants if he's not going to be here for more than next year... and he shouldn't even be here for that if he won't fire Amos.

Maybe so. If we don’t bring in a veteran QB, BA is prepared to start Gabbert next year. Gabbert will be backed up by whoever they draft. Looks like CP & MS will both be gone though.

if that's the case, then going back to Stanton makes even less sense. If Gabbert's gonna be your stopgap, why not get him as many reps as possible before next season?

Ok, I can see that but at what price and when do we stop with the stop gap QB's. I'm still pissed we didn't move one spot to get Watson.

I agree 100% and will add to this. I never get limiting ourselves to any kind of QB for our so called system. Any good QB is so hard to get change the system if need be to fit the franchise QB.

We agree too much on this board.

I must remember a much different Todd Haley than everyone else. I saw a coach that pissed off his players and wasn't liked very much. He went to KC and didn't do well there. I don't want him on this team. If people think BA can be hard headed they ain't seen nothing yet.

I don't want him but he IMO after having the same trouble with Big Ben and working it out most likely he has learned his lesson. Na it was all Kurt a big pass.

Not sure if it’s true, but I’ve heard that we even called Watson 2 picks out to let him know we weee going to select him. I certainly hope we’re not that stupid. If so, the Texans must’ve intercepted our call

Haley took a really bad Chiefs team to the playoffs in year 1. They went from like 4-12 to 11-5. They proceeded to lose in the 1st round. Injuries ended Charles’s next 2 seasons & thngs went south quickly after that. He’s no doubt a stubborn mule, but a great offensive football mind.

To be honest, Smith never had the WR corp in KC in order to be effective. Macklin is OK as was Bowe but they don't have a Fitz as an option. Now, if Kelce comes with Smith I'd open him with open arms. :D

He also didn't get along with the GM in KC. IMO he had a strong positive influence on Fitz (he challenged him!) and also a lot to do with the resurgence of Warner. I would love to see him as HC of the Cards.

If we truly want Fitz back, then Arians will need to return. I think Fitz walks if we go with another HC. Fitz definitely doesn’t want to learn a new offense.

However, if its Todd Haley that could make a difference. IMO he made Fitz a better player.

Bump. With BA likely leaving, I am fully on Todd Haley train.

I like Haley, and he would bring discipline that this team needs right now. I see quick improvement under Haley, but burnout might follow. Most Steeler fans in this area don’t like him & wouldn’t be fazed in losing him.

Please don’t tell me that MB & SK would be that stinking stupid to promote Goodwin. With some decent options out there, why would Goodwin EVER be an option. EVER.
