Teams are going to be making the Suns trade offers for the #1 pick. It's gonna happen. This does not mean the Suns are going to accept any of these trade offers. It is highly unlikely.

However, it should be interesting to keep track of these rumors and ideas.

So Ayton supporters, please do not get upset. If nothing else, it's a way to pass time until the draft.

Let's keep it fun.

Here's what I responded to the bordow tweet

What's the point of even saying that/calling other teams, the other teams in the top 5 have very few assets besides their pick.

Theoretically best offers:
Sacramento: #2 pick and Dearron fox Dallas:
#5 pick and dennis smith

Not happening, and honestly I wouldn't do those either.

Phrazbit is right, any move like that... might as well just fold the franchise

Zero scenarios exist.

Anthony Davis, Giannis, maybe embiid (but health and ayton might end up just as good). Maybe kat.

But that's it, any scenario for a pick swap in the top 5, after almost 30 years, i will actually quit this team.

Why would they even blow the chance to actually pick at number 1 when it's their first time in franchise history to do so?

If Atlanta offered #3 and their unprotected pick next year I’d consider it. Ayton is #1 on my board but I don’t think he’s a Lebron/Davis level prospect. In the end I stay at #1.

McDonough is getting resistance for making the above comment as tweeted by Bordow. I think every option should always be explored. There is nothing wrong with listening.

Not going to lie, I got a little heated when I heard he was willing to listen to offers to trade down.

I like the selection of Ayton if the Suns draft #1. He is clearly the best prospect heading into the draft.

However, I am less convinced drafting him is the only way the Suns reach the next level. If the Suns drafted i.e., Jackson and added another top player, I could be excited as well.

The goal for me has always been for the Suns to get back to a championship level team. There are no guarantees in the draft.

I do not have faith McDonough. My fear is that we get screwed in a trade down scenario.

Here is the more likely scenario.

The more likely scenario is Phoenix trading up from its No. 16 pick. McDonough said that once Phoenix solidifies who will go No. 1 – the decision could be made this week – the Suns will then determine who best complements that player and the current roster and see if it’s possible to move up in the first round.

McDonough said he doesn’t think Phoenix will be able to get back into the top five but, “If we could get into the late lottery or maybe the mid-lottery that’s something we will definitely look at.”

Hold tight for a week.

You know... if he had said "we'll listen if other teams come calling, but it will take heaven and earth to move this pick" i totally get it. But the Suns reaching out to others, while saying that we think we can get just a good a guy lower DEVALUES the 1st pick if you're really thinking about dealing. I don't care if he's serious or not, that's just an idiotic statement to make because it makes it look like we're the ones without leverage when we have ALL the leverage.

I just always get the feeling dude thinks he's Danny Ainge... when he's just CLEARLY not.

Don't screw this up idiot.

I think the Suns best option is to trade up from #16. If they can get into range to get either Doncic or Young, I would be happy for them to throw ALL of the Suns acquired picks to do so. The only issue with this scenario is that it will be real hard to pay Booker, Jackson, Ayton, AND another young player years down the road. It would almost make sense to just use all the picks to fill out the roster with the right role players around the big three.

See where you playing devil's advocate gets you MS...the wrath of the masses.

I'll play. Like you put up before something that nets us Bamba and Young would be appealing...sort of. Still not sold that Young is a perfect fit and Bamba is more of a crapshoot than Ayton. But the potential is dreamy.

I read some article where we get #4, Gasol, and future pick. But they didn't mention players involved that we give up. Gasol has a couple years left and he's declining so that dont thrill me.

Part of me could conceive it if they took Knight ...we take Gasol...get more than one first rounder and we end up getting Young with Bamba somehow. I could see Bamba cleaning up the glass for Booker/Youngs misses.

But then again I'd rather have Ayton and Young if that were possible. But it's a close call.

SGA...I say it and will keep saying it. He wouldn't cost us max to re-sign and his defense and solid shooting would blend well...plus his assist rate is solid. It wouldn't cost us a fortune to get him!

Agree. From my POV, I don’t trust McD to make the right decision, even if it is blatantly obvious.

I'm not so sure about "solid shooting" as he appears to lack the strength to shoot from distance without using his forward momentum. And it remains to be seen whether he can guard men. He's 6'6 and only weights 180 pounds, that will be a problem. He also tends to pound the ball. But he's got great length, quick hands and is a hard worker. He's not a slam dunk but if we can get him without giving away a lot, he'd be a nice gamble.

His shooting percentages aren't bad. He can shoot the three. His defense would at least be solid. Yeah he needs to gain some weight but so what...not a big deal.

If SGA has trouble guarding men then Young will be a disaster on the defensive end.

I'm banking on McDonough to make the right moves in the draft and this summer. I think he is a GM on an upward growth pattern. If he blows it, I will be devastated along with everyone else.
