I think the time has come to trade Fitz. We need to build around our young nucleus and it is clear that we don't have a QB on this roster capable of getting him the ball. Fitz could command top picks in return and allow us to develop a young QB behind a serviceable o-line, which is missing now.

Cut Kolb, Skelton and Lindley.. Draft QBs and O-line

Trade the one guy that the average fan knows and loves?

No way. You don't trade the most popular guy on the team. You don't trade the guy that kids love. He IS the team to all the normal people who don't spend hours worrying over how horrible everything is.

No way, that is not the solution. All we need is one pick to get a QB (and our record will be dismal and we should have no problem getting that pick if we act on it) or trade one pick to get Rivers because QB is the problem.

Trade Fitz...fire Wiz...cut everyone...sell the team...blow up the stadium...etc;)

You guys kill me with each loss & I hate to see how you react when your kid misbehaves the first few times or when your wife disagrees with you. :bang: Jeez

How bout we just fold the team & root for the new LA team? ;) Lol

I don't think Fitz would actually net as much in return as you think... he has one of the top 2 or 3 contracts for a non-QB in the NFL. So, the team acquiring him would have to fit that into their salary cap, which would mean utilizing rookies with smaller contracts to fill out the roster. I don't see how a team takes on Fitz's contract, gives up a bundle full of picks over multiple years, and still expects to be successful. You just don't see superstar players involved in huge trades in the NFL in this day and age.

After all of the talk about trading Nash for years, he ended up netting 2 first round picks likely to be in the late 20's and 2 second round picks (different situation contract wise than Fitz though).

Kids don't cheer for losers. Boldin was the team before Fitz.

Darryl Washington has a chance to be the face of this team.

Trading Fitz not the answer. He's our best player. Besides, this team is not good at evalutaing talent, so I have no faith that we would draft anybody that would improve the team.

Wrong, we drafted Campbell, Washington, Roberts (yes, he can play and so can Floyd) and others...we just cannot draft a QB

The Mavs traded Dirk at the right time though ;)
Those picks we got for Boldin, got us what 2 SB titles?
How about trading Pat Fischer, Dave Butz & Ahmad Rashad in their primes? The Cards probably traded away a SB trophy in the 70's with the talent that got away.

You never trade a superstar in his prime unless you can get what Hershel Walker netted the Cowpies, which ain't happening.

Well, I don't see paying all the money to someone you aren't/can't utilize. If it meant securing the top qb in the draft, I would trade him and draft another young WR and let our receivers grow with our new franchise QB.

To me, this is like paying Fitz to sit on the bench. He isn't helping us win any games under the circumstances. We need to start from scratch with this offense. We aren't going to compete, and will continue to waste our great defensive efforts from week to week, unless we can reshape our whole offense from OL to QB to RBs. That takes lots of top draft picks and money freed up to spend. Larry is our only thing of value to accomplish that overhaul. Sure we all love him, but I want a winner not just the remembrance that we once had one of the best all time WRs.

lol, it cost us DRC, a 2nd, and a huge contract to an unproven QB to extend the guy just a little over a year ago. Maybe if Robert Sarver was the owner we'd do something like that. Not to mention, it's just bad business to get rid of him, he's great for the community, and is far and away the top jersey seller. I think we lose a ton of fans shipping him off

Tell me exactly what you would want in return for Fitzgerald as part of this plan.

BTW, Rivers is one hell of a lot better than anything we've had in years, better than any other UFA.......Flacco, Schaub and Moore are the top UFA QB next season.

Sorry, but I never saw a single trick-or-treater dressed as Q. We had a SLEW of Little Larrys this year.

(And they each got extra candy.)

Gah! I hate loosing and reading the End of Life As We Know It posts that night. :bang: (Congratulations. In four years here I don't think I've used that emoticion one time. You did me in.)

46 teams have won the ship without Larry Fitzgerald. We gotta get a ton of picks and build this team in the trenches and at the QB spot. Larry Fitzgerald is the Corvette without a gas station within 2000 miles.

Maybe his contract makes him impossible to trade, but something needs to be done.

Some of the ideas around here do make the Cardinal Org look rather professional at times. :D

Look at the QBs in FA. There is not a single one worth signing. Best QBs that MAY become available are Mike Vick and Matt Flynn.

Sorry to be doom and gloom, but this organization has failed miserably at attaining and retaining quality QBs.

Trade a future HOFer for a first-round draft choice? Yeah right. Which of the following would have been worth trading Larry Fitzgerald for?
Levi Brown
Patrick Peterson
Dan Williams
Dominique Rogers-Cromartie
Antrel Rolle
Matt Leinart

Trading far-and-away the best non-quarterback the franchise has had since Aeneas Williams in the prime of his NFL career is the absolute dumbest idea in the world. This ain't Anquan Boldin pounding on the door demanding a trade. This is a superstar and one of the core players that gives me some hope for the future.

Yeah, it's called getting a QB that shockingly has actual NFL talent.
