I am fascinated to see if Barkley can get through waivers. It would totally suck to have traded for him and to not get anything in return when he leaves the team.
The Cowpies would pounce all over him

Barkley? I think so too. I also think he could thrive in that atmosphere. Cowboys....USC....same attitude. Barkley was raised as a USC homer. He could go there, be comfortable with the hoopla, including Jerry Jones (Jones has nothing on the USC Mafia and the Cowboys have nothing on the USC Cult).....and light it up.

Personally, I'm hoping we keep him since I think he could light it up here too if, heaven forbid, something happened to Palmer.

And, since I detest JJ, I hate the idea of him getting a winner, if Barkley won games as a Cowboy, we let slip away. Gives me the heebie jeebies just thinking of it.

I don't think anyone in their right mind believes Stanton will get cut, he just got a $2M bonus and $4.5M guaranteed. He is not going to get cut, and there is no other team in the league that is insane enough to pay his contract, so he isn't getting traded. I don't see us flushing that much money when we gave him a way generous offer well beyond what the performance he shows on the field dictates.

That is what frustrates so many people though... why is Stanton untouchable in this club? Why is there is a refusal to come to grips that his position can and should have been upgraded over the years.

There are not many upgrades to be had for a backup QB. I think we're all to quick on the trigger based on a few preseason games. The last time he played for real in real games he did enough to keep us in games. Well enough to win games too, it's when he went down we saw what bad QBing looks like.

IMO Barkley has shown enough I would not cut him go with 3 qbs we can cut him later if necessary but he will get snagged up. He looks more promising than Stanton already seems to have a better grasp of BA offense, after being here much less time!

Ya'll are batshit crazy. Nobody they've brought in is our QBOTF. Stanton sucks as a backup, so what? They're trying to win a F'ing SB, do any of you really believe we're doing that with anyone but Palmer under center? This year? No. We win it all or we die.

Stanton brings value if we're all out, balls or nothing. Doesn't matter who's 2nd string or 3rd string. All or nothing right? Given that context he brings more value than any other QB we've had. He knows the plays and he knows the substitutions better than Palmer, as evidenced in the show. I don't really care anymore if he can throw a ball, we're not winning a SB this year unless Carson Palmer is our QB.

Of course we are not winning the Super Bowl with anyone but Carson! That doesn't mean you give away a young Qb like Barkley after a short time in BAs system already seems to be running the offense more effectively than Stanton, and looks much much more accurate throwing the ball than Stanton! It would be an old cardinals move to let him go and probably go play well for years for another team! This new cards org hopefully doesn't just throw away a player that after giving a pick up for him, and him looking better than Stanton!

I thought Barkley looked pretty good in the final game, but so did Logan Thomas in the 4th pre-season game last year (& Phillip Sims). Barkley didn't throw the ball well in the other 3 pre-season games. He had a decent completion % in game 3, but it had a lot more to do with great catches by the WRs than Barkley's accuracy... almost all of his throws were behind the WRs.

Inconsistency has been the knock on Barkley since coming into the NFL. He had 1 solid game (where he still had a sack/fumble), 1 ok game & 2 stinkers. I realize Stanton has had 3 stinkers this pre-season, but he's actually won real NFL games.

Barkley looks better to me than Stanton and to me it just looks so obvious. But if Arians still believes Stanton is the better choice, that's good enough for me.

Chiefs cut QBs Aaron Murray & Kevin Hogan if Barkley gets claimed & we need a 3rd QB for the practice squad.

Logan Thomas got cut by the Giants (not advocating bringing him back here).

Barkley cut? Terrible decision IMO he has way more upside than Stanton! Arians loyalty to Stanton and our poopy punter is baffeling!

This is mostly how I feel, especially bolded part.

I'm more baffled by fans who think BASK is clueless to which are the best players for this team.

Even if you don't agree on Barkley how the hell are we still running out one of the worst punters in the league? Again Arians love for Stanton and butler is very confusing.

Because sometimes coaches are loyal to a fault and sometimes don't make the best decisions. Case in point, the Chip Kelly Eagles. He gets rid of a guy like Foles, who isn't perfect, but who had a pro-bowl year under Kelly in 2013(119 passer rating) who was 14-4 under Kelly, and trades for Bradford, an oft injured and mediocre QB who was never good. Coaches can be wrong and to some, Stanton is not a viable option as a QB on this team and Butler is a mediocre punter at best. BASK has also ignored the LB position in the draft, for the most part. Nobody's perfect.

You need to be slapped repeatedly until you understand BA is 1000 times the coach as Chip Kelly. Seriously dude, Chip's personnel decisions were so bad you would think a fan off the street was making them.;)

There isn't a HC or GM in the NFL that is flawless in the decisions but fans thinking they know better then them is comical IMO. Sure every once in a while the fan lucks into making the right call over a GM but that's just dumb luck IMO.

Fans attend all practices and meetings and game planning sessions and............So much that we don't have access to that the HC and GM does and yet we know better then them?!?!?!!?

Buccanon= 1st round
Minter= 2nd round
Golden= 2nd round
Jones= former 1st round = 2nd round

I would call that addressing the position. I agree on Butler but don't get the Stanton hate fromm everyone. When pressed into action in '14 he was 5-3 as a starter. I'm willing to bet 100% of the NFL would take that record with their backup QB starting. So, he looked bad in meaningless pre-season games, who cares?????/
