Chip Kelly was coach/GM, BA is the coach, SK is the GM.
I've noticed BA has some but not all input on personel decisions.

Well, So Much For That.
Bucannon was drafted as a safety.Buccanon= 1st round
Minter= 2nd round
Golden= 2nd round
Jones= former 1st round = 2nd round
I would call that addressing the position. I agree on Butler but don't get the Stanton hate fromm everyone. When pressed into action in '14 he was 5-3 as a starter. I'm willing to bet 100% of the NFL would take that record with their backup QB starting. So, he looked bad in meaningless pre-season games, who cares?????/
I know that but he has played ILB, maybe from day 1. If not, from very early in his career.Bucannon was drafted as a safety.
They knew how they wanted to use him when they drafted him.Bucannon was drafted as a safety.
It is hard to find an obviously good prospect QB that won't make an active roster, and even if you do get a QB with upside on your PS just how many reps or how much development are they going to get there? If you won't carry 3 QB’s, and most agree that BA has blind loyalty to Stanton, then that means by pure math we will never have anyone but Stanton until Palmer retires or gets hurt, because Stanton won't get sent to the PS to make room for another QB. So you can imagine the only way DS will be supplanted is when SHTF because Palmer is out and Stanton has lost us critical games. I would rather not find out what have or don’t have in a trial by fire.
1) CP is aging and injury prone. He is one play away from ending his career than most QBs, if not more than any other starting QB in the league now that Peyton has retired, except maybe Romo.
Regardless I’m just annoyed that we’re in a situation where we have all this potential with this team but each year it is Carson or bust (now at age 36, on a limited time table) because we haven’t been willing to make an honest effort to upgrade the backup QB position and by default trying to explore/develop a future starter. To me it’s like going out and spending $250,000 on a Lamborghini but then not spending the money to insure it. Actually, it is more like only insuring it for only $1,000 because Drew Stanton is your buddy from back in Indiana and he sells insurance on the side, but the most his policies cover are $1,000. But you buy his policy anyways to do him a solid even though it is an inferior policy and leaves you in a vulnerable position. While you could pick up another policy for the $249,000 difference you’re afraid that would offend him since you promised him he would be your go to guy for insurance, so you just hope you don’t wreck your Palmer, I mean Lambo, since you’d be totally screwed.
They knew how they wanted to use him when they drafted him.
