Honestly training camp in Glendale sucks. Great for new fans but access to the team stinks. Sorry. I used to be able to get my daughter an autograph, now I don't even try. There are to many grown men and women who worm their way to the front row and act like little children. Not worth it. What ever happen to the tables!?

LAst year I gave my kids both a cardinals autgraph page we got at the front door, they walked down, people let them in and their entire page is covered in autographs

I don't like it either, but I seriously doubt it's ever going back. The team is adding to it's profit margin each season and players and coaches like going home at night.
I think the team stays at a hotel in Glendale during the first couple of weeks of training camp. Does anyone know for certain which is the case, do they "camp" in Glendale, or do the players/coaches go home at night?

The team stays at the beautiful Renaissance Hotel next to the stadium. Players love it because they are not stuck in crappy dorm rooms and are close to home if they live in the Valley. Coaches love it because it is next to the domed stadium and they don't have to worry about stopping practice because of thunder storms every afternoon. Owners love it because they don't have to pay NAU and can collect all of the concession money from the stadium.

I don't see the Cardinals ever moving back to Flagstaff. Too many Positives here for them.

Don't get me wrong. It's a win for the team and a win for the fans who go just to watch players practice. I just don't feel you get to connect with the team like in years past. It's no biggie but it's not as intimate an atmosphere.

clif, you're right and wrong. As an old-timer (going on 78), there is nothing like the good old days. And there is nothing more beautiful than the picture of the team with the red and white uniforms, playing on a green field, surrounded by pines and mountains, under a blue sky. Just a beautiful picture. But if the objective of TC is to get the team ready for the season, Glendale makes the most sense (and dollars).
