This show has turned into the most stupid program on TV.
I was going to comment on tonights episode, but instead I'm going to take a long walk in the woods and hope for the best....
Oh god. Seriously? Thank god the story line is over with the witch. She was annoying as hell. Just when I was starting to feel good about them moving on.....they just had to sprinkle in a bit of fairy dust.
I am all for swampery tarts and sex but again with the fairy crap??? This show doesn't need an excuse to show gratuitous sex scenes but seems like they search for excuses to go back to the fairy land.
people are still watching this show?
The problem is, Daren, that they're suddenly clinging to the story lines later in the books, after they've already completely ruined them. Without the faery stuff, they just nuked about half of the material from the books. But they've done the faery stuff so completely ******** that no one wants to see it. Catch-22 at its finest.
I guess you didn't stick around for the previews of next weeks episode because Marnie isn't completely gone just yet. The preview showed her spirit going into Lafayette. My guess is that either Lafayette or Jesus are going to die in the finale. That said, some plot lines they completely dropped mid seasons:Oh god. Seriously? Tommy turns into Maxine and gives permission to drill on her property. The next week he's dead.
Jason was being brought into the ware panther clan but he escapes...and apparently isn't going to change into a panther.
Baby Mikey was tormenting his mamma...but not any more. Arlene seems to have forgot the whole thing as well.
Since Marnie is dead...to a degree, does this mean that the spell on Pam is broken?
What happened to Portia?
See, what I think happens in the writers meetings is that they throw all kinds of ideas out onto the table and instead of picking the best plots, tey go with them all.
Next season?? ZOMBIES. Wait not just Zombies, ZOMBIE PIRATES,,, no no wait, CURSED ZOMBIE PIRATES THAT CAN FLY AND SHOOT ACID OUT OF THEIR FINGERS!
I should write for this show forsure.
And yes cheese, I'm still watching. It's been my favorite show for a while, so I just decided to ride out the season and if it didn't improve (which it really hasn't) then I'd be done.
i just couldn't do it anymore. I watched the season premiere and thought it jumped the shark and was then just bored to tears the next two episodes and found that i had no interest in ever seeing another episode ever again... and from what i'm reading, looks like i made a good decision.
a shame... it was a pretty solid season 1 and I really liked season 2, and even dug a lot of season 3 but for some reason this season just seriously turned me off.

Let's see, season finale is now over and after about 55 minutes of boredom, we get...
Jesus is dead.
Marnie is officially gone.
Tara may be dead(shot by Debbie Pelt).
Sookie kills Debbie via shotgun.
Steve Newlin is a vampire.
Russell has been freed from his concrete prison.
Eric and Bill kill Nan.
Renee's ghost, complete with fake Cajun accent, warns Arlene about things in Terry's past coming to light.
Andy finds love.
And we finally get to see Jessica's naked bosom...well, at least one of them.
Most of this happened in the last 5 minutes. Horrible finale to say the least.
This season is shaping up better versus last IMO. This show borders on being to freaking weird at times. Last season was just so uneven compared to the other seasons. So far I have to say I am liking this season.
I can't argue with you Bert.
Here's what bothers me about True Blood. Season 1 was great. Season 2 was good, not great. Season 3 was a mess. Season 4 was an even bigger mess. Season 5 was better, more along the lines of season 2. This season started off well, now it's spiraling into season 3 territory. I mean, the writers/producers constantly throw in storylines then abruptly end them. For example, season 4, they wasted half a season on Jason and the werepanther arc only to end it with no mention since. The werewolf arc this season is a complete waste of time and is only included so Alcide and Sam are included in the season. This would have been time well spent elsewhere. Killing Terry, I mean, huh? Would have been better to kill him off after the whole Ifrit thing last season. And the whole Andy thing is a hot mess that's not going anywhere. I'm beginning to not like this season.
Question for any of those that have read the books. Is the series even using plot points and parts of the books anymore? Have they already exhausted that material aside from probably the ending? I don't know if there are going to be anymore books so that might be a dumb question. Just curious how the show compares to the book. I have heard at least one person tell me the show is better but I don't know.
Spot on NJ.
The whole thing just stinks of a room full of bad writers who are like "ok this character is a fan favorite so lets FORCE them into the plot somehow so everyone will be happy and in the meantime we'll kill off someone else so it seems like there is still drama."
Instead of a room of good writers who are like; "Ok this person is a fan favorite so lets kill them because it works perfectly in the plot and as an added bonus it will piss everyone off. "
although I will say they did a halfway decent job of killing Nora, but I'll reserve judgement because Eric should be really pissed off and kicking ass from this point on and if they dont make it that way I'm going to be really annoyed.
