All of the sudden, my 60" Hitatchi LCD is getting a yellow tint to the picture. First the whites stopped looking white, now it almost has a yellow tone overall.

Any idea what might cause this? DCR, other experts?

Have you tried unplugging your monitor for about 15 minutes, and then plug it back in? It could be a degaussing issue.

Do you have Avia, or DVE that you can use to test your video settings? If not, I could mail you one of mine, and then send it back, or give it to me at a tailgate or something.

Be sure to double check all of your cabling as well. Are you using Component, DVI, or HDMI?

Sounds like jaundice to me. I'd get it checked.

Using component and HDMI (component from DVD and HD from cable box) IIRC.

I don't have avia or DVE, please send me that so I can test them. That would be a help.

I will unplug it and try that as well. Hopefully that works.

See, I knew I was right to ask for DCR specifically because I knew I'd get the funny comments anyway. Heck, if it wasn't me I'd make them. :D

I'll send you Avia, because it is a little more user friendly. Take good care of it. Spent $40 or so on it. I'll try to get it in the mail today or tomorrow.

Is it a DVD? Can it be copied?

Depending on the encryption, and the software used, yes.

But I plan on sending my actual copy, along with the test strips.

Cabling all secure and fine. Unplugging it (overnight) didn't work.

Could it be the lamp? Can individual color tubes be replaced?

It very well can be the lamp. The AVIA disc that I will send, will just try to change your TV's color/tint/hue settings etc. Have you tried manually changing any of these?

Yeah, i've found some things on the AVS forum that were settings for my type of tv and applied them with little to no change.

Ugh. Hopefully it is under warranty. One or more of the color tubes are probably going out.

So are the color tubes different than the lamp? I don't see where you can buy color tubes online, but I do see lamps (and they aren't expensive).

Hitachi 60VX500

Are you seeing portions of the screen appearing more yellow than others?
Are you seeing yellow horizontal or vertical lines on the screen?

Hmm...not really on the first one. Perhaps? It isn't noticeably so though. No on the latter.

It's more like all the white tones are not crisp white, but like a light creamy yellowish look. And the overall color tone has a yellow feel to it.

I don't think that this is a lamp issue, but a color wheel/tube issue. If it is only one, it may be $400-$500 to fix if it is not under warranty.
