Sure, if they have good ties for coordinators. You don't have to be a coordinator to be a HC IMO

What a) makes you think they have those ties and b) what have they done at their respective positions to even garner a look?

IMO head coach is more about organizing, managing and motivating unless the HC is a playcaller.

And you think Goodwin has shown this ability somehow and would deserve an interview? Where do you see evidence of the above?

Ever heard the saying Money walks & BS walks? Some say in what takes place in the organization & $$$ could be the reason. He's got NFL experience so let's not act like that probably wouldn't be on his radar.

Who thought Chip Kelley or Chewing gum Carroll would've ever made the jump? I know Carrolls teams were under investigation but he was an NFL guy before. Didn't they have great gigs in college? Hmmmm

No I have never heard that saying

Chip has, what I perceive to be a much student who than Shaw so it makes perfect sense he made the jump. I just think Shaw marches to a much different drummer.

Besides these days the money isn't really an issue it is the challenge and proving what a genius they are.

This could be the proverbial straw after almost 50 years with this team.

We'd prob ALL say that and then be right back here the next day to bitch and complain until the cows come home.

Like Harvey Dent said in The Dark Knight:

THERE'S NO ESCAPE FROM THIS!

I've met Vrabel years ago. He's a nice guy but would be leery of hiring him as a HC until he has a more proven track record. I wouldn't hate it but I'm not sure why people are endorsing him. Other than his name, what has he done to show he's a HC?

I'm all for keeping Arians if he wants to stay.

This team needs an entire new staff. No holdovers. Goodbye Tyrann, Bethea, Bethel, Buc, Dansby, Rucker, JJ Nelson, John Brown, Niklas, Lupati, Veldheer, Shipley etc....Sorry Fitz...you tried.
JJ Nelson, John Brown, and even Iupati can stay. We just need a big wr and for Chad Williams to step it up.

If Arians does intend to hang up his coaching kangol at the end of this season it would explain things like Stanton starting. He is giving his favs an opportunity to audition for a job next year somewhere since there is little doubt Stanton would be hanging around AZ after this year.

I like Buckner too. Their demeanor when they hit the podium makes me want to play for them and im just a fat guy in a chair.

Haha. Could you imagine Amos getting the job. Seriously. That would be the ultimate proof we are cursed. I would take Chip Kelly over Amos and I dont want Chip Kelly.
There are some college coaches who I like but the NFL is a much different animal. Ask Saban. I like Gundy....I like Dantonio ....I like James Franklin. But my pick would be Todd Haley. I rather have a good offense again.

Hiring anyone from inside this organization would be a mistake. There isn't one person who has shown they can coach up their position or unit, much less run a team.

As for alternatives...

David Shaw isn't coming to Arizona. He makes a bunch of money at Stanford, and his family loves it there. The only spot he would consider is Indy with Luck.

Same with Harbaugh IMO. The money is a wash, and we aren't offering a new coach much to get excited about.

Mike Vrabel is an option.

Jim Bob Cooter is an option.

Teryl Austin's name gets tossed around consistently.

Matt Patricia is fools gold IMO.

Pat Shurmur's work in Minnesota should get him a second shot somewhere. Keenum, Bridgewater, and Bradford have all been successful under him. And he has figured out how to make that offensive line work.

Josh McDaniels deserves another shot.

Frank Reich is an option IMO.

I am sure there are others that I am missing, but those jump out the most to me.

I don't love Bennett out of Green Bay because that offense is sooooo simple.

Same with Browning out of Oakland.

I don't know how I feel about Tom Cable other than I love that he can teach skills to young players which is a trait I would be looking for.

Carroll left a sinking ship at USC. He destroyed the USC football program for years, and while they were under probation, good ole gum smacking Petey set himself up pretty in Seattle....No consequences for him....I despise him.

Franklin would never make it as a NFL HC. He's a great college recruiter and a lousy HC. He will yet this season cause PSU to lose a game. I would be interested in his OC and DC but not Franklin. He would be a disaster.

I like Todd Haley. He was a terrific OC here. He, then, got KC into the playoffs in his 2nd year as HC. He had major issues with their GM and was let go when the team started out poorly in year 3 and had major injuries. He has done well as OC with the Steelers. I think he has a good relationship with both Bidwill and Keim. I really think he helped in the development of Fitz and was well respected by Warner. He is 50 year of age.

Here's what I think of Harold Goodwin and the job he has done with the O-Line.....

Russ Grimm was more deserving of a HC interview when Whiz left than Goody does now.

Thankfully Mike B is smart enough to realize that a complete flushing is necessary in a rebuild like this. He's seen it first hand with BA and now he's seeing it with the Rams. I don't think there will be any carryovers. Except Keim. And Freddie Kitchens of course. But he comes with the furniture.

I will say this, Buckner would be worlds better than that chump Bettcher

Why get rid of jj Nelson? He’s young, talented, and not expensive. He’s a great #3-4 wr.

(I cringed as soon as I realized he was the only one on the list I found myself standing up for).

If he’s mellowed I’d consider him. I think he yelled his way out of KC.

What about Chris Peterson? He led Boise State to many big wins and he's now at Washington and has made them contenders.
