I will say this:

Losing Badger is awful and will require a lot of scheming and coaching to even remotely reach his production on the field.

However, there are only two people on this team who, if they fell off the face of the earth tonight, would push this train completely off its tracks; and they are Carson Palmer and Bruce Arians.

I love the Badger but FS don't make or break championship teams. I would say he's actually the 3rd most important player in our secondary. I think we seen how important Johnson is back there calling out coverages he's clearly the leader of our DB's and of course Peterson is the best CB in football in my opinion.

He will be missed and I feel bad but I think we will be fine

In retrospect, all HB should have done is catch the ball, tuck it and hit the turf.

This is silly. Not sure what your point could possibly be. "In retrospect", every player who has ever been injured should've skipped that play. But if a player isn't going to go all-out on every play, he doesn't belong in the league. And Mathieu wouldn't be the Honey Badger if he were that kind of player.

While I don't think he was trying to showboat, I think his aggressive instincts took over and this is what aggressive defenders are taught---when you catch the ball, try to take it to the house.

Exactly. And why would he have done any differently on that play?

I was thinking please don't put him back in the game. Not with the score 40-17 and not on the same field where he tore his left knee.

 He tore up his other knee in Arizona vs. the Rams.

Just keepin' it real!

People who think TM is easily replaceable are mistaken. He covered a lot of field. His range was more exceptional than anyone we have on our team. He could cover sideline to sideline better than anyone we have. We may have individual players who can fill his role 1 on 1. But we have no one who can cover the field, with his range, the way he did. He covered a lot of territory.

One simple example, which didn't even amount to much, is a play in the last game, where he dropped down in coverage to a man in the flats, and it was covered, the QB looked off, and he dropped to the nearest WR in a route directly behind him and covered that also. We have nobody else who can do that.

Nobody on our D has the range of a TM, not even PP. TM covered the middle of the field for us. We're going to be hurt by his absence. Bigtime.

No Doubt , this is a much better NEXT MAN UP situation than if we had lost Palmer , I believe the rest of the team will step their game up to compensate for the loss of Badger !

A little ambitious. He's more likely to begin the 2016 season on PUP than be putting any real work during OTAs, unless there's some new German procedure that I'm not familiar with.

I just can't believe we're embarking on this playoff/superbowl run without TM. It just doesn't seem right.

I love our chances... but it just doesn't seem right.

If we win, he deserves a ring as much as anyone.

A little ambitious? Sure, but certainly possible if it is indeed only the one ligament that is injured. It all comes down to whether or not he has any major setbacks during his recovery.

I would probably include Veldeer as well. Deep passing game would be wiped out. That's kinda our thing.

The worst position player that can sustain an ACL tear is a DB. There is a lot of lateral movement involved in the position, especially when you consider that you are reacting to the tendencies of the offensive player. For example, a WR runs a slant at the LOS, the DB has to make a quick, unexpected move to that side.

BA; Tyrann Mathieu was a clean tear (ACL) and could be running around in off-season workouts. Expected to have surgery within two weeks.
