I know it doesn't matter or if anyone cares, but does anyone else then TM was trying to showboat on his pick? Luv this kid but I think this might have been avoided had he done what it seems most DBs do.

It just seems strange that his body was squared up & looking straight at the ball & the end zone at the time of the pick. Instead of running thru the ball & a beeline to the end zone he twisted his head & torso backwards then towards the sidelines after planting & trying for the run back.

Its goint to be an emotional night on February 7 when coach Arians hands Honey Badger that Superbowl trophy and he lets his crutches drop to hoist it over his head. There will not be a dry eye in the house and people will talk about how this entire defense, but especially Bethel and Bucannon stepped it up in honor of Matthieu.

Not a chance. He grabbed the ball and looked back to see where the receiver was as he was going to make his move up the field. The acl popped as soon as that right foot hit the ground. The legs bumped together because of the injury. He couldn't pick up that right leg like he normally would.

It was a freak landing.

I wouldn't read anything into it other than once in a million times you can land in such a way as to freakishly hurt yourself.

looking at the play in slow motion it was just putting insane pressure on his knee and it let go. I think almost everyone's knee would of gone unless you're a freak of nature in that respect it's going to go given the goofy way he landed.

I wouldn't read anything into it and I don't think he should either it's just a freak accident that will be a blip to the honey badger before long he'll be out making other teams pay for this :)

Exactly. My dad tore his Acl taking out the trash. Stepped off a curb and POP!

When you really sit down and think of everything that is happening in our bodies simultaneously just to take a step, it is a marvel that these guys can do what they do.

I don't think he's injury prone I think it's just bad luck. If he changed the way he played and stopped flying all over the place, the he wouldn't be Honey Badger

You couldn't be more off-base...

In retrospect, all HB should have done is catch the ball, tuck it and hit the turf. While I don't think he was trying to showboat, I think his aggressive instincts took over and this is what aggressive defenders are taught---when you catch the ball, try to take it to the house.

What was very strange is that right before the change of possession, the NBC cameras focused on Honey Badger on the sideline buckling up his chin strap---and i don't know if any of you thought the same thing, but I was thinking please don't put him back in the game. Not with the score 40-17 and not on the same field where he tore his left knee. And seconds later, boom. It almost seemed scripted.

Yeah if anything I think he was trying to figure out how to score it's what he does.

What I'd like to tell him if I could say anything to him is that to me it just looks like a freak accident and as bad as it is it's not something to dwell on just something to get over.

There isn't anything he needs to do differently next time because it's not likely to ever recur anyhow is what I'm getting at and the only things you could do is be more careful which leads to probably more risk of injury.

The NFL is high level athletics stuff is going to happen you can't worry about it you just play.

I still wince when Palmer drops back but it held together and he gets popped hard and crumpled hard too.

You just have to conquer fear and move on and I know he will he has before.

It's eerie that he did this on the same field.

BA doesn't rest players like that often we can argue if he should in this or that case but it's not how he rolls. This it just sucks.

What i wonder is whether BA, because he calls plays on offense, leaves it up to the defensive coached to sub in or out. I will bet you that BA may address this in the off-season. He did take Palmer and Johnson out (finally)---one could argue that HB is the Palmer of the defense.

He tore up his left knee against the Rams, how was it the same field?

Yep. The Football Gods had the Cards marked last night. After a couple narrow escapes, they finally got one.

The NFL is just brutal. Every contender is missing someone...

Andy Dalton
Le'Veon Bell
Jordy Nelson
Kelvin Benjamin
Edelman & Lewis
Chancellor & Lynch
Jamal Charles
Manning (to a lesser extent)

So looking at possible roster additions now that one has unfortunately opened up you would think we need another DB. One guy out there that would be intriguing is Carlos Rogers. I know he is old (34) but he would provide a back up CB/S depending on need, definitely wouldn't be placed on an island. Could play the slot or used on corner blitz packages like Mattieu.

One could argue that but one would lose... Peterson shuts down a whole side of the field

i've been in heavy denial all day.

THIS SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But let's get the damn 2 seed this weekend! As long as Palmer's healthy, I think we've got a shot to outscore ANYONE... just as long as we have the ball last. this D is gonna be rough to watch me thinks!

I am hoping that BASK found a pot of gold in DJ Swearinger, and he came to us because the football gods finally realized they have screwed with us long enough.
