One of the biggest plusses about Tyrod Taylor is that he doesn't turn the ball over. 51/18 TD/int ratio.
For his career, those numbers look good but I think in context, they pale a little. The ratio is good but the actual production is pretty low and it isn't improving. 3.9% and 3.3% TD% the last two years is not starting quality. His completion percentage is acceptable but on the low side and his YPA is under 7.0. Which all seem to support the idea that he isn't particularly aggressive with the ball.

I think Taylor would be a great option which a guy like McCoy could work with. Taylor is a better passer than Tebow and we have freaking David Johnson :)
I continue to wonder why McCoy's time with Tebow is considered a success? 46% completions? 6.3 YPA? 124 yards/game? 72 rating? That Denver team won in spite of Tim Tebow and it's why they couldn't replace him fast enough. Even in his vaunted playoff win vs. Pittsburgh, he only completed 40% of his passes and it was just a fluke situation. It wasn't masterful coaching by McCoy, it was prayers being answered and silly defense.

Tebow was a 20% passer in the first three quarters of a game, lmao... but dude was nails when the game was on the line

To be honest, I think Taylor is the QB Wilks & McCoy may target in their statement to re-tool not re-build. Taylor is mobile, accurate and efficient. His $19M salary seems to be in line with QB's of his caliber after the Bortles signing. Depending on what BUF decides to do, I wouldn't be opposed to trading for him as I think he will be cheaper than Nick Foles. Maybe ARZ wants Cousins but he would have to want to come here and the money he would cost would prohibit ARZ from improving the OL with veteran help.

Right now I think ARZ's options are: Cousins, Foles or Taylor. Unless other teams end up making surprising cuts or trades, those 3 are it.

neat stat... I think it is probably incomplete without also checking throw aways. Tight windows are often the result of poor talent at WR and TE,...if guys run bad routes they dont get open...which then makes a QB either throw into a tight window or throw the ball away...or run with it. It would probably also be beneficial to see if the opponents they faced played man or zone against them. Zone would allow for more open targets while man could create more "tight window" scenarios.
we all know if a WR is streaking down the sidelines,..the CB can be right in his hip pocket... but a decent QB can drop the ball over the top of him for a relatively routine reception... but by these stats that would be considered "Tight Window"

as all stats, context is important as well as supporting stats... rarely in the NFL is a guy legitimately "wide open"

sadly, when they are, most QB's miss it and throw to the other side of the field, lol.

Really interesting - if true, this is an indictment of Taylor's WRs (which is no great surprise) and not of Taylor's willingness to take risks with his throws.

I also think Taylor's rushing yards and TDs should be factored in when evaluating him (as should sacks and fumbles, in fairness). As a starter with Buffalo, he has 51 TDs and 16 INTs in 44 games, with a decent 7.2 y/a, but he also has 1575 rushing yards and 14 additional TDs. On the minus side, he also has taken 124 sacks and fumbled 17 times - more than the typical QB.

I would love to see what Kurt Warner's score would be. That dude just spun the rock, and let whatever happened, happen.
