I think the Suns offer the best opportunity but is that enough?

Also, the Suns must already have trades lined to clear enough money before pursuing Aldridge.

The Blazers say they will not do a sign and trade with Aldridge but that can change. The Suns have a bundle of draft picks to include in any sign and trade.

If he was so dead set on SA right now why is he visiting new york tomorrow

Sam Amick @sam_amick
LaMarcus Aldridge is unlikely to make a decision by tonight, I'm told, as he wants to hear what the Knicks have to say in meeting tomorrow.

He's not visiting any teams, I thought the meetings were being conducted in Los Angeles?

Sources: Suns have legitimately closed the gap in pursuit of LaMarcus Aldridge. Tyson Chandler, perimeter talent. They're a real factor.

I just read that. WOOT! Kind of sucks because I am getting my hopes up now. You can finally say the Suns turned the corner if they land both Chandler and LMA.

Not sure if this has been posted as we are reporting on the Suns meeting with LA on different threads. But this is an excellent read on how the Suns conducted the meeting with LA. Very impressive.

So, on the radio they were saying that we would have to move more than PJ Tucker according to Paul Coro and they were saying trading anybody outside of Tucker might be problematic at best. Who else? I have not run this through a trade generator. I am multi-tasking. Anybody?

YOu will have to package some picks or young players. But you do it. It is like trading for Alderidge.

Sorry I was asking if anybody looked at the players, their salaries and came up with any realistic scenarios? I personally don't think anybody will touch the twins because of the legal issues. So what is left?

Guys I would pretty much guarantee that the Suns didn't sign Chandler just to entice Aldridge. They signed Chandler for what he will bring to this team with or without Aldridge. The fact that it came out of left field right before the meeting with Aldridge on the other hand was no coincidence as I believe they were doing whatever they could to make sure they had a deal done before the Aldridge meeting.

Same here. I think Chandler's a good signing regardless of what LMA decides. Like I said earlier, he'll keep this immature team in line. He's a vocal leader who is a no BS type guy.

I hope his locker is right next to the Morris twins...

This is a lesser version of AP all over again. Just waiting for Finest to "book" this signing and call it a day!

interesting. a great mentor/big man for Len to learn from. BC will be over the moon with this signing. wonder how much scratch he's getting. I look forward to seeing our trainers work their magic on him getting him in shape.
I thought I responded to this post, but when I checked I couldn't find it.

I guess I didn't hit the right button because I am so thrilled with the news.

After Chandler brought a Championship to Dallas, I wanted him to come here rather than the Knicks.

Even if he can't play as many minutes now as then, he will change the face of the Suns.

I just hope that Horny can figure out how to feature a Center and not leave all of his Centers on the bench during the 4th quarter.

It will be refreshing to not have your PG be your leading rebounder.

Tyson Chandler making 14M$ when he is 37 does not matter to us.

At the end of his contract the CAP will be at 110M$ or so. The CAP, not the luxury tax.

If Chandler completely breaks down, his contract will be just annoying but nothing that kills a team. It would be like having a veteran go out on a 7M$ contract today.

This better not compete for the most posted in thread in ASFN history. LOL.

After mulling it over for a day, I absolutely LOVE the signing of Chandler, LMA or no LMA. He is exactly what this team needs -- a good player that demands respect and can be a top leader in the locker room. Only negative is the contract length, I suppose, but even that isn't that big of a deal--what with the salary cap increase next year and our training staff.

This is a slam dunk and one of the best moves of any team this summer so far, IMO. Getting LMA would make the move even better and one of the best FA signings the Suns have ever made.

lmao. Now all I can think about is what if AP AND LMA came to Phoenix. My head might have exploded from joy.

Instead likely scenario is:

No AP
No LMA
And Matt Leinart blocked me on Twitter.

Rough couple months for Az's Finest :)
