Nobody should be crowing about the BIG 12. The only reason why they are stable is because they no longer have programs that the B1G and SEC want. It is by default the leftover conference. The best of the leftovers but leftovers nonetheless.

Define crowning? The B12 is far better in both CFB and CBB than the what-would’ve-been-Pac10 going forward. It’s a no brainer move for each program.

A year before USC and UCLA announced they were leaving the PAC, the Big 12 was on the brink of collapse and every one of their remaining 8 schools applied for membership to the PAC. If not for the PAC deciding not to expand, they would've met the same fate that currently awaits the PAC. They were saved by the fact that nobody wanted any of the remaining 8 schools.

I like ASU being in the Big 12 conference. Thew PAC 12 is dead and the BIG 12 is a good solid landing place.

You’re forgetting the market also spoke and that while you say “nobody wanted” the Big 12 you don’t mention that ESPN/Fox are giving them $32 post OU/Texas departure while same channels offered the PAC exactly zero dollars post USC/UCLA.

So who exactly does nobody want again? I think y’all forgetting you went 3-9 last year and haven’t been to a major bowl game in over 25 years. Us and Big 12 needed each other for survival. The more prominent programs like UO/UW/Stanford want the Big10 and vice versa leaving, same with prominent southeast schools and SEC. Big12 needs relevant universities and we needed not to be in the Mountain West so it got done. Silver lining being that it will be the best hoops conference by a mile and the hope is the AZ schools and CU have it figured out in football now to help the conference gain stature.

And yes, Robbins deserves significant credit here. Crow has been sitting on his hands for the last 12 months still deluding himself into thinking he was aligned with the bigger schools.

Nobody stopped you from going. If you were so coveted and such an "elite" school why would you need us?
We were going anyway. Our president had to convince Crow to come along. You should be embarrassed that our school has to protect your president from himself.

You know nothing about the internal conversations between presidents. Stop pretending that you do.

Embarrassed? We reserve that for stuff that happens on the field, like ASU beating U of A 70-7 in the territorial cup. We don't really get too worked up over this administrative stuff happening behind the scenes.

I really hope the PAC can figure something out with guaranteed money at least as the Big 12 without streaming in the next day or so.

The BIG 10 doesn't look like it is able to add Oregon and Washington under the current TV deals.

So remaining in the Pac would be:

Wash
Oregon
OSU
WSU
Stanford
Cal

ASU
UA
Utah

If they can add
SDSU
SMU
Fresno State???

then I would still be happy with the conference. I am thinking Oregon and Wash may try to pull something off to keep the conference together.

It’s over - whether it’s today or two years Oregon/Stanford/UW are taking the Big 10 money at some point. So why wait for them to rug pull us?

Why do I know more about the operations of your alma mater than you?

At end of the day the Arizona schools have nobody to blame but themselves. Churning out mediocre to bad football programs for last 25 years certainly wasn’t helping any cause.
If you can't excite your local base, how can you hope to get a national presence?

Yeah. It's really hard to follow twitter rumor accounts. 90% of what they say is speculation or if they aren't outright making it up they are being strategically fed the info.

The one thing I don't understand is how the 4 corner schools are worth roughly 125 million a season, and the 4 rumored to be heading to the B1G are worth 160-200 million a season.

The best deal we could get was 200 million a season from Apple? Collusion from the
networks or complete failure by the conference.

This appears to be the plan.

Without LA the PAC 12 was just not viable in the current media landscape it seems.

You gotta hand it to the BIG 12 and largely Yormark. He out maneuvered GK and the PAC presidents every step of the way. He executed his plan with extreme precision and positioned the BIG 12 to be the 3rd best conference in football and best in hoops that the SEC and B1G won't be able to ignore.
