You clearly don't understand the definition of elite.

If you think U of A is in the same tier as the other NCAA bluebloods as a "top 13 program", that is somewhere beyond hilarious.

Elite is Duke/Kentucky/UCLA/North Carolina. If you think U of A is on the same level as those teams (ELITE), you know nothing about college basketball. Not even U of A homers here will push that argument.

UA is a top-13 program but I agree they’re aren’t currently “elite” as it pertains to the big guns. However with the way recruiting is picking back up post scandal it shouldn’t be long before they’re back in the top-7/8 range nationally.

I think the way college sports is going with one and dones, G-League, NIL, and transfers, pretty soon nobody is really going to be dependably "elite." North Carolina went from runner-up to out of the tourney the following year with most of the same roster AND elite recruits. Kentucky has a massive recruiting haul every year and disappoints every year. And you can go on down the list.

The days when any single or group of programs dominate dependably are coming to a rapid close.

That would allow Yormark to add UCONN as he seems to want to and make it an 18 school conference. The B1G seems to be headed to 18-20.

I'd prefer to stay in the PAC, provided the numbers were close. A move to the Big 12 would be softened with more PAC teams along for the ride. I think you are discounting the impact of losing a link to CA. UofA has historically pulled a lot of hoops recruits out of CA and the Pacific Northwest.

True enough. Since 2000, Oregon has been a power. Washington, although not what they were in the 1980s/1990s, has still maintained relevance. USC has been (mostly) one of the premier programs. Utah has been unexpectedly great, thanks to Whittingham. Even Cal and Stanford had runs of dominance.

I would argue that maybe only UCLA has underachieved as badly as ASU. And of course, Arizona has been mostly terrible with the exception of a few anomalous seasons. The Arizona schools haven't come close to pulling their weight since the turn of the millennium.

There is a basis for a pretty solid regional division that could be entertaining with ASU, UA, BYU, Utah, Colorado

Yeah, that was one item that stood out to me. Just not an obvious choice on how to break it apart.

I could see the TX schools not wanting to be separated. Houston could be good, but all schools will want exposure in Houston.

Could see maybe Texas Tech splitting off, but don't see them separating the Houston market and the greater Dallas market.

Baylor is relatively close to fort worth and not really far from Houston.

Not sure if Lubbock actually does anything for anyone though........

9 game schedule. You play everyone in your pod every year and then play two teams from the other pods every year. You have a home and away with every team not in your pod every 4 years.
