After learning he was traded to Phoenix, current Skipper player Milos Vujanic said: "I only heard I got traded, I don't have any special commentary. There's still a lot of time to think about it. I know it's a young team and that the owner is making it that, and I think that'll work for me. In any case, my contract with Skipper runs for another year, but when the time comes, I'll think about the NBA in a more contrete manner."
Q. Phoneix got Eisley, and you're quite frankly better than him. Charile Ward will likely get released, does that mean you'd be the likely starting PG?
A. "Eisley's contract runs through another couple of years and Ward might not be there within a couple of days. In any case, it'll be a young team, and I hope a healthy environment, and what I'm especially looking forward to, PT. Actually playing is what's most important to me."
Q. Did you rehab your injury and when do you expect to be back on court?
A. Almost two months ago, I strained my left thigh muscle, and when I should've stopped and let it heal, I didn't. Instead, I played through it and only made matters worse. It's nothing serious, but when I make certain movements, I feel pain. I had a talk with the team and decided to pause for 10 days so I could heal. I feel better, and I think I'll be able to play soon, since we have an important game vs Panathainikos coming up."[/

It’s better to play there than to ride the bench here, but if he can play here, that’s the best kind of battle testing.

It's not entirely the same! If you are the best, the true leader on a team like Manu was in Europe, you develop different skills and mindset too,

Gee, hasn't he already done that?

Thank you very much to the translators.
Perhaps I am over thinking this, but as far as contract size goes wouldn't it be better to get him here sooner than later? That is assuming that he keeps improving. As it stands, if they want him here next year it is likely going to cost them a good chunk of that valuable salary cap space they just cleared.

Exactly! Bodiroga kept staying in Europe for "one more year" and he was making so much money he simply didn't want to give it up for a rookie contract.
That's correct.Originally posted by Joe Mama
I was under the impression that there really weren't any rookie contract rules for second-round draft picks.
