Crawled Through 5 FB Fields
Scanning the various depth charts around the league these are some of the players that might become available. I would be curious to know your thoughts about any of these players---and please add ones that you think might become available. I will bold my three favorites, with my top choice in Cardinal red..
RB
Kory Sheets, MIA
Bilal Powell, NYJ
Ben Tate, HOU
Steve Slaton, HOU
Derek Ward, HOU
Curtis Brinkley, SD
Philip Tanner, DAL
Andre Brown, NYG
Kahlil Bell, CHI
Chester Taylor, CHI
Mike Bell, DET
Dimitri Nance, GB
Tyrell Sutton, CAR
Vai Tua, SEA
Keith Toston, STL
While Chester Taylor (5-11, 213, 10, Toledo) is getting on in years, there's still some solid tread on his tires. He excels in the red zone as a runner and receiver and that's why I think he would be the right fit. I like keeping Alphonso Smith too, s a red zone specialist like Taylor would be great.
OLB/DE
Paul Kruger, BAL
Mike McAdoo, BAL* (signed yesterday---undrafted/supplementary draft)
Auston English, CLE
Chris Carter, PIT
Jesse Nading, HOU
Pierre Walters, KC
Antwan Barnes, SD
Mark Herzlich, NYG
Alex Hall, NYG
Dave Tolletson, NYG
Philip Hunt, PHI
Juqua Parker, PHI
Brad Jones, GB
D'Aundre Reed, MIN
Lawrence Sidbury, ATL
Chauncey Davis, ATL
Thomas Keiser, CAR
Jeff Charleston, NO
Philip Hunt (6-0, 248, 1, Houston) led the CFL in sacks last year and he is having a very good camp with the Eagles---but the Eagles are deep at OLB/DE---and if we could acquire Hunt or Darryl Tapp or Juqua Parker (one of them will be the odd man out)---that would be a boon.
S
Larry Asante, TB
DeAndre McDaniel, NO
Colin Jones, SF
Darian Stweart, STL
Mark LeGree, SEA
Akwasi Owusus-Ansuh, DAL
David Sims, NYG
DeJon Gomes, WASH
Josh Bullocks, OAK
Jerome Boud, OAK
Quinton Carter, DEN
Shiloh Keo, HOU
Troy Nolan, HOU
Jordan Babineaux, TEN
Myron Rolle, TEN
Raymond Ventrone, CLE
Robert Sands, CIN
Troy Nolan (6-2, 206, 3, Arizona St.) is the kind of physical safety that would thrive in Horton's system. He's on the bubble right now in Houston. I would be willing to make some sort of a trade for him.
