I'll add this perspective to my previous post, since I just know this is what some of you are thinking:

I can just sense a response to my previous post will be something along the lines of, “Len makes too many mistakes, he looks lost, etc.” … And I’ll just say I disagree. I watch other comparable young centers – Noel, Gobert, Drummond, etc. – And I see those guys make mistake after mistake in terms of fouls, positioning, turnovers, etc. … The difference is they are still given minutes to play through those errors, learn from them, and therefore w/ the minutes – put up pretty decent #’s that mask any youthful errors they make during the games. Len doesn’t look “lost” more than any other young big, and based off his lower foul rate this year he is really improving w/ his positioning anyway.

Again though, it's all about minutes. Len can not prove himself, prove that he's improved unless he's given consistent rotation minutes (20+) every night. It's silly to me it's even a question if Len should be getting 20+ minutes/game.

I really feel like Len hasn't had a chance to get into a rhythm this year - at all. He has his moments where he looks lost, commits a stupid foul, etc, and is almost immediately pulled. I am a Len defender because you can't teach his size, athleticism, and attitude. And he went through stretches last year that were pretty damn impressive.

I was happy bringing Chandler in because I figured Len would still get plenty of minutes while learning from one of the better centers in the league. But nope, he's getting less than 15 minutes a game. Not going to develop playing so sporadically. I get the sense that he's a guy who's going to blossom elsewhere.

This team is simply hard to watch. I am not expecting much out of them right now but on some nights it's like they are stuck in the mud. JH just doesn't seem to have a plan. This team has defensive talent and yet the team at times plays horrible defense. Honestly, by mid-season if this team doesn't show growth, it might be time to look elsewhere for a coach.

This is what it looks like to me. Maybe Hornacek has a plan but the Suns appear to be adrift with no direction. This is a concern because I think the Suns will make moves by the trade deadline. Those moves need to fit into the Suns future. Maybe the Suns are waiting to see what happens after (presumably) Markieff is traded.

Kind of ironic that the Celtics are achieving that more successfully than the Suns now that McDonough has changed affiliations. Or maybe it isn't.
McDonough and Hornacek are in this together. If one goes without the other, not much is going to change. Guard oriented small ball, without the complementing features to make it work.

And I just don't see Sarver pulling the plug on either of them anytime in the near future, let alone both of them together. Or changing very much even if he brings in a new regime.

We are Suns fans. Sarver is a banker!.

I really hate it when the Suns suck. :( Always a fan but man, when the Suns are good winter is like sports heaven! Suns all week and Cardinals on the weekend.

I dont dislike this team, they just have an extremely low ceiling in their current state. I take nothing away from the Warriors game, losing to them is something literally EVERYONE who plays them, but the Suns are so far from being anywhere close to that, it's a bummer.

We all post here because we love this team, well, most of us, lol. But there is zero interest in this team right now outside the base. I bet you if you polled 20 people off the street (who aren't big Suns fans) they couldn't name one current Suns player. :(

What do you guys think of trading Tyson Chandler for a draft pick? I mean, he's not going to be the difference maker anyways, he still has some value and this team needs to continue to develop players like LEN and bring in more young talent through the draft next year. Carrying a veteran like that just seems kindof pointless.

I dont know, just throwing out ideas. I think it's already time to just focus on development and next years draft. It's not that I'm giving up on them, it's just time to have a longview because honestly, who thinks this team in its current state is primed to make a deep run into the playoffs?

Oh well, go Suns!

I think it is time to just focus on developing this team. They don't need any major moves. I still think that they could be as high as top 6 by the end of the year given good health which has been somewhat of a problem so far.

We aren't even 20 games in yet. The NBA doesn't even start for a lot of sports fans until Christmas. This is the first big road trip and it will go a long way in developing the chemistry and character of this team that has a lot of new pieces this year.

I doubt anyone feels this way especially since we don't even look like a contender for that last playoff spot right now. And it's hard to not be concerned about Bledsoe's latest knee injury and Knight's continuing ankle problems. But I think moving Chandler this soon (first year) is a bad idea unless he asks for a trade. Play the young guys more, take your lumps. Keep trying to win, they'll either figure it out or the losing will take care of itself.

its too early to move chandler. Potential playoff teams looking for that extra piece could be looking for someone like Chandler.

I don't believe Hornacek can afford to take the long view - I should say, I don't think he believes he can afford to. His early success raised expectations, so in a way its coming back to haunt him.

I agree with future superstar. This team needs to play some defence and get a rotation where Len and Warren gets heavy minutes. Good to see Booker has made the rotation. This means that #10 should ride the pine and Goodwin only getting garbage time. Move Leuer and Warren into the starting 5.

Right, Hornacek has no guarantee that he will even be here next year.

He wants to make the playoffs this year. He can't afford to worry about next year or the year after especially when they aren't even 20 games in yet.

Not so fast, Kemo Sabe. :)

In the next game, Devin Booker played zero minutes.

Does Jeffey really believe that inconsistent playing time is the way to develop his players, particularly young players with potential?

How soon before we hear a resurrection of the D'Antoni quote, "It's not my job to develop young players."?

Good points. Just seems kindof pointless to carry Chandler and take minutes from the younger guys at this point, that's really all I was thinking, nothing to do with Chandler really. Might as well go into FULL ON REBUILD MODE. :( But I totally get your point about being too soon.

I don't think the Suns need to go into "FULL ON REBUILD MODE" since they already have four potential stars in Booker, Warren, Bledsoe and Knight. The Suns are solid although unspectacular at center which leaves PF the primary position that needs an upgrade. I do like the depth at PF with Leuer and Teletovic. I'm not sure if Tucker should be starting at SF but that is the coach's decision.

They are in the 8th spot as of today, they are a game and a half from 6th. I think they are still coming together as a team and learning how to play together.

It isn't time to be sellers yet.

I agree but it sure would be nice if the Suns would at least put a rudder in the water. I mean, commit to something. Honestly, I wouldn't care if it was rebuild mode, going for the gold, developing players...etc....but can they just freaking choose one and show some resemblance of a plan. I think that is the most frustrating part for me.

I can accept the team losing if there is some resemblance of plan. It just feels like JH is doing whatever he feels like on a given night. So frustrating.

You said it. Show some frigging consistency. The young uns need it and they need to be on the court in every game.

Go Rush Hour!

I think Hornacek is in a tough position. This is the last year of his contract so he has to be in a win now mode without assurance from the Suns FO.

Well if he wants to win he needs to freaking play the guys that play well instead of force feeding us tucker, Morris! It's idiotic that they can't see who is playing well! We as fans can see what's working but horny is just oblivious it seems. He's done in my eyes he is the problem and needs to go!

Rush Hour is a nickname for TJ Warren aka Tony Buckets. I've heard EJ and the guys use it.

I don't think I've heard the Rush Hour name, just Tony Buckets.
