Amare SHOULD want to evolve to co-exist with Shaq, for the sake of winning...

I don't think it has much to do with what he wants to do. He has never been a back to the basket player. he has never played with a guy like shaq before, because he's always been the center. His attitude is piss-poor, we all know that. But he was a 20/10 player because the lane was wide open and he could do his thing. He isn't going to change who he is as a player now, and imo he shouldn't have to. Bringing in shaq, in retrospect, wasn't a good move, especially for the development of amare. the team was based around amare's success (mostly offensively), and that all changed when shaq came in. I blame him for being an idiot and not improving defensively and on the boards, but i can't blame him for struggling to find his place in the offense.

That is a very fair comment that I have to applaud for. Sarver and Kerr decided to do an experiment, and it has failed. Move on, trade either Amare or Shaq.

Why would you want one small forward and a washed up forward in Stackhouse? That's one of the worst trades I have seen yet.

Who would play Power Forward? What would you do with Grant Hill and Barnes? The SF position would be a pile up.

That deal makes a lot of sense:

#1. Turning 37 soon, Shaq's trade value is not much. Reports said Kerr won't ask much.

#2. No matter what, Josh Howard is a decent small foward. Hill will retire next season, are you counting on Barnes or Tucker to start?

#3. Stackhouse is expiring contract. He means nothing more than that. You don't even need him to set foot on court.

#4. Financially, that is a 20M for 15M trade, saving the organization 5M salary + 5M tax.

#5. Trading Shaq, keeping Amare, you don't need a starting PF back. Instead, there will be plenty of playing time for Lopez. Hell, the season is over, get all the kids on court to see how they can develop.

exactly, it didn't work out. I can't fault them for making the move for shaq. it was risky, but if it would've worked out like they imagined it could, we may be world champions (or competing this year). It was worth a shot with Marion becoming unwelcome at the time, but you win some and you lose some. This was one of those losses, and you have to move on now.

Great so in this scenario Amare goes back to our starting center and we go back to being the worst in the paint defensive team in the NBA. That's exactly what this teams needs to turn things around and start building a defensive minded team. Lopez is a complete bust so don't tell me that Lopez has a future at ever being our starting center. The guy can't rebound for starters and is clumsey. You won't coach that out of him.

Could you imagine having Lopez & Amare (which by the way would be the most underachieving rebounding front court in the NBA) as our starting front court?

SteelDog, I am not saying we should trade Shaq, my words started with "Instead of arguing with anti-shaq Amare fans ...".

For me, there is still a lot of hope. This team still capable of playing good basketball when they turn it on. If we can get a few good and young role players by Amare, with improved team chemistry, we probably still have a shot.

If we trade Shaq now, it is officially over, everything. Bye, Nash's last chance for a ring.

since when does ellis put up 20, 5, and 4? He doesn't average 20 points a game, and only did it once year (last year). His points per game are down 8 since then. that's nearly half lost in one year. That is a bad contract for a player regressing that much from an injury. Nobody from Golden State has ever said they don't want him, and Monta has never said he doesn't want to be there. He may be a bit unhappy that they are reserving the right to end his contract if he doesn't return to form, but nothing has been said about being unwanted.

Tyrus Thomas and Noah suck. Thomas is athletic, but nothing else, really. Noah has been a huge disappointment. Certainly not the Anderson Varejao kind of guy Chicago hoped for. No thank you. Give me Ellis and/or Biedrins any day.

Ellis posted those numbers last year, when he was healthy and wanted to play in Golden State...

Obviously, you havent watched Golden State this year or paid attention to what is going on. Ellis is not regressing, Rowell doesnt want him there and Ellis doesnt want to be there, not to mention he has to share the ball with Maggette, Jackson, Azubuike, and Crawford. Those four have never met a shot they didnt like. Golden State is a disaster right now and Biedrins and Ellis are the only hope they have for a future.

It is well known that Rowell and Mullin were on opposite sides of how to handle the Ellis situation. Rowell won and suspended/fined him and really isnt to excited to have him on the roster. Its not like im making this stuff up.

Thomas and Noah are finally getting consistent minutes. Thomas has posted what, like 7 double doubles in his last 9 games? Thomas has as much potential as any young PF in the NBA and could easily end up being another Josh Smith on defense.

I actually like the Thomas, Noah, Sefolosha, etc. deal. I also like Hinrich from the bulls but the Suns would need to add Barbosa and I'm not sure what other Suns fans would think of switching up the two Guards...


Gambo lol also said the bulls deal would have the bulls sending two 1st Round picks but I sort of missed the actual Trade mentioned... if it's Thomas, Noah, Sefolosha, and Gooden along with two 1st Rounders, I'd make that Trade!


but I also like the Jeff Green deal; and I like the pistons deal WITH Stuckey, doubt the blazers Trade Aldridge but 3 athletic role playing defenders with upside with multiple years on their deals; an expiring contract; and TWO 1st Rounders is one of my favorite out there.

Jeff Green + Wilcox + Watson is the best deal by far. The problem is OKC has to worry about whether Amare would like to play there (to re-sign him).

Noah + Thomas + Gooden is close behind, but Gooden is injuried. Even mainly taken as expiring contract, Gooden is very important if we want to have a good result this season. Now, if there is still a pending deal, it is probably Hinrich + Thomas + something. It is still a good deal for me. The following issue is to too crowded backcourt, maybe trade Barbosa out for front depth?

Sheed + Stuckey + Amir Johnson is also very good, just there is no more reports confirming about Stuckey. It is still too much a rumor.

I hate the Portland deal. Aldridge is not anything close to the right type of PF to pair with Shaq I don't think he has much upside left either. Bayless is too green. This is the deal effectively end this season, and next. Trade Shaq and Hill now, to somewhere they can chase a ring, please.
