He didnt hit her.

Logic says when one person is hitting (her) and the other isnt (him), then he is trying his best to avoid a DV situation.

Thats simple logic. Stop being emotional and use your brain.

Trying you best to avoid a DV situation is walking or even running away, not throwing her down. It's hard to believe that you or anyone could think that what he did was okay.

I've aggressively tackled a woman who was attacking me and had a knife. She got pretty injured by the tackle. I held her down and called the police and stayed on her until they came.

I'm 6'5 230.

I didn't hit her though.

ha, I assume youve never dated outside your race.

I actually think its more racist to think everybody is the same. White, black, asian, hispanic. All of them have the same personality?

No. Some are more fiery than others, I promise you that.

Ha, actually I have dated and even married outside of my own race, and I find the majority of women to be crazy. haha But I'm not going to argue with you about it, spent far to much time going back and forth with you on Mixon. Go Cards! ;)

Protecting yourself when there is an actual threat is a completely different situation and obviously self-defense.

I'm all for giving D-Wash a second chance, but you're just embarrassing yourself and those who think he deserves redemption.

Accept the fact that he hurt a woman and plead no contest to the charges. Be more focused on how he has bettered himself, if he has at all.

I remember hearing she was throwing potted plants at him and chasing him into the parking lot.

My only point is I am not passing judgement on that situation. The reports sounded like some stuff went down and he was punished by the judicial system. Time to move on.

Literally not ONE word of this is corroborated by anything.

HE CHOKED HER AND PUSHED HER TO THE GROUND HARD ENOUGH TO BREAK HER COLLARBONE.

Look how emotional you are.

Im clearly right just because your frothing at the mouth. Theres no logic behind any of your feelings.

Where did I say it was OK? I said I put equal blame on them both.

And he did try to leave. Reports say this occurred in the parking lot. They argued in the house and he left and she chased him out and the argument continued outside. He pushed her away. She fell and got hurt.

I know this is argument is going to go on forever, but the bottom line, the fact he didnt hit her tells the entire story. He was holding back, 100%.

We dont know how the things started
What we know he just wanted to see her daughter and take her to the grandmother
The ex girlfriend ( well known by police cause of some criminal records) didnt allow him to see her and things got heated

They were having a heated argument, as couples do. She was the aggressor. If youve never seen a black woman go off, then go watch some youtube vids. His baby mama was 100% the aggressor, and thats not a situation where you can just cross your arms and wait it out.

bottom line HE DID NOT HIT HER.

That speaks volumes. That tells me he was trying not to hurt her. He was trying to restrain and contain her. And she got hurt because hes big and shes small, mostly by her own doing.

He was arrested on two counts of assault: one for choking her and one for shoving her to the ground resulting in a broken collarbone.

If you are going to defend that, we have nothing more to discuss.

I'm frothing at the mouth? Lol... you were the one who used the all caps underline first. I just returned the favor to try and speak Bodha.

Theres no logic behind any of your feelings.

There's literally no statement of fact behind yours.

Bottom line: He pleaded guilty to the crime of aggravated assault, a class 6 felony.

He was arrested because hes male and shes female. Aggressor has nothing to do with it. World isnt black and white. She was attacking him him and he pushed her away. He didnt hit her.

You know what bothers me most about all of you who say DWash is a woman beater? Its because you diminish the actual brutality of real domestic violence. There are men in this world who beat their wives on a daily basis and she lives in constant fear.

You should be embarrassed for disrespecting those women and trivializing actual trauma. Youre the same who equate a catcall to rape. Actual rape victims would not agree with you. Actual DV victims would not agree with you.

He also choked her. That's laying your hands on a woman, right? That's domestic violence, right? That's losing control, right?

A real man walks away.

He's a coward, but go on defending Domestic Violence. Speaks volumes of your character.

As to if DW should come back. He's done his time, let them see what he has left in the tank.

I've never seen someone so determined to excuse someone for a domestic violence incident and arrest.

This means absolutely nothing.

It means that he didn't try to go with the "But, I didn't hit her" defensive strategy. He pleaded guilty to a felony assault charge. Two other charges were dropped (assault and criminal trespassing).

Just for reference...I was driving down a street today and I saw a couple talking. Well, they were arguing. As I drove by I saw her smack his head with a plastic bottle and say..."Call me a ***** again, $$$hole." He stood up and walked behind my car as I stopped at a stop sign...yes, I sat there. She followed him across the street yelling and started punching him. He didn't do anything but I heard him say..."stop, you're the one that cheated." Not all women are innocent and not all are meek. Regardless, I never justify hitting or hurting anyone.

Why are we having this argument when the whole legal process has already played out? It's like people are wrestling with their own conscience for still supporting the guy. lol

On the other hand this thread is awesome, and very illuminating. ;) Apparently a couple of our posters were there at the scene!

In general, plea bargains mean nothing. They are part of the terrible justice system that we run. Commonly when arrested people get tons of charges and then are basically forced to plea down to one. It is a big problem.
