Wow. Brenly just pointed out that Koch, as a newbie, has had to face off against three straight Cy Young winners. He's shown very well for that kind of challenge.

So far, a pitchers' battle. Scherzer's outs have all been via strikeouts except for two, and it's bottom of the 4th.

Koch is looking pretty good on the mound.

EDIT: And Scherzer with a single and RBI double.

Looks like we are conceding this one to Scherzer. Avila behind the plate, no Pollock, and Goldy still hitting third.

Can’t really blame ‘em.

And our first lost series. Bummer.
Statistically we can still tie the series by winning Games 3 and 4.

Tomorrow is an afternoon game at 1:00, BTW, and Sunday's is at 5:00.

And there is cause for celebration. Silvino Bracho was sent back down.

Said it earlier - scoring 1-3 runs a game is a recipe for disaster. I don’t care how good our pitching is. Have to score runs.

For the second nite in a row, the Rockies and Dodgers lost as well... Dbacks missing out on precious opportunities to put more distance between them and the rest of the West. These missed opportunities will no doubt come back to haunt the team! Bummer...

I don’t know why I thought it was a two-gamer.

Dbacks are second in the bigs in ERA and 20th in runs scored.
Without Peralta and Pollock this team would be dead last.
The rest is a collection of dog crap, the team BA is .226 which IS THE WORST in the Major Leagues.

Ah, a Major League batting order for the D-backs today. I'm glad to see Murphy catching (for his one appearance each week???). :sarcasm:

But I would bat him ahead of Marte and Ahmed. I hope he is not left on-deck with runners in scoring position.

And still no switching Souza and Goldy in the lineup. Souza has been hitting the ball hard, but just not getting on base a lot so far, as he goes through his unofficial Spring Training.

And Mark Grace's pre-game solution. "Hit 'em in the pool." That's the problem, Mark. Hitting the ball in the air. It's a good thing he's not the Assistant Hitting Coach any more.

Troy Scribner issues a pair of two-out walks, but manages to get out of the 1st without giving up any runs.

#Dbacks miss an opportunity to get some breathing room for Scribner there in the first. Bases loaded w/1 out and they come away empty. Yesterday 2nd and 3rd w/0 outs in 1st and didn't score.

Bases loaded, 1 out and the guy going thru spring training can't lift a ball far enough, and the lefty can't swing at strikes. The Dbacks, with their weak ass batting lineups, will be passed by the Rockies by the middle of June.

And why is Goldschmidt still batting 3rd and Avilla even on the team..
