Which brings up a sore point about last nights game... When Marte tripled, Ahmed was the next batter. He's hitting .216 and is up against one of the premier strikeout pitchers in baseball. I think up to that point he had thrown 35 or 40 pitches and only 3 or 4 were balls. Where was the bunt and suicide squeeze...

You need to scores runs, even if there one at time.

When Lamb comes back he needs to be put on one of those foot first only slide plans.

A.J. Pollock ties the game with an RBI single in the third — scoring Paul Goldschmidt, who has reached base in two of his last three players appearances. It’s 1-1. #DBacks

I don’t know that bringing in a guy that basically tries to hit a home run on every pitch AND deflating the ball makes sense.

Yes, as Steve said, his best pitches are his curve ball and changeup.

He's in trouble again with the bases loaded in the 4th and and out he comes as a run comes in. Well, the D-backs had to try someone.

Anthony Rendon hits into a bases-loaded fielder’s choice, but a run scores. The #DBacks trail, 2-1, and that’s it for Scribner. He threw 98 pitches in 3 2/3 innings.

Yeah, at least our defense hasn't dropped off. That's the silver lining.

Yeah I’d eject Souza too, except for not being able to hit a baseball

It would not surprise me if Magadan is fired after this series.

Geez, we're not only averaging one run in each of the first three games vs. the Nats. We've scored one run per game. You make a good point about Magadan, Lefty.

Our first series loss of the season. Watch, we'll score ten runs in the finale. Well, maybe not!

And I still say that Souza should be moved to third in the lineup ahead of Pollock to give him a chance to succeed. Right now, he's hitting ahead of nothing but lightweight batters. He is sure showing a positive attitude.

I said a long time ago our batting average was horrible and would catch up with us. Well, it has. It is only one of many stats but your BA is ours,it will catch up to you and ours has.

Like it or not, the DBacks can't hit. Its the beginning of the collapse as we don't have any good hitters. We were really really lucky in April but everything is catching up. You can't sit on this lineup and hope to win.

Once Goldy starts to hit, the rest of the offense will get going. Goldy can carry this team for a few weeks.

We've lost 4 straight, and have gone 3-7 in our last 10 games. I'm not feeling as optimistic as I did when we started the season.

I think Lamb could be the difference.

I'd like to believe that but, until I see otherwise, I believe that Goldy has reached the point in his career where he will be no more than an average hitter *.

* average hitter in today's MLB means trying to lift every pitch into the air and wind up hitting .220. We are in a phase that favors pitchers. As does the humidor in half of our games.

I hope that when Lamb returns, and he and Souza reach "in season" batting eyes and join Pollock in the heart of the order and Descalso and Owings platoon at 2B, and of course Peralta, without further injuries, we'll take steps forward at-bat. Which might help others like Avila.

Hoping that Goldy can start to hit and carry the team is not a plan. Since the latter part of last season, he can no longer get around on fastballs. It happens.

I've stayed pretty quiet this season, bu I've known this was coming for a while. It's inevitable you simply cant have all the injuries to key players we've had this season and also have your two biggest projected bats (Souza and Goldy) doing absolutely nothing.

There was just no way that magic was gonna last it puts too much stress on the pitching staff.

With everything else that's going wrong, Goldy simply HAS to get going, or we might set the record for best start fastest fall... He's the heart and soul of the offense and it was only a matter of time before his slump started Effecting everyone else.
