put the shoe on the other foot & I'm quite sure their answer would be differant. Even Manning said he thought the Cards would get the ball & Coughlin knew he got away w/a murder & refused to answer the question.

Not buying it. If refs purposely call "make-ups" like that, then NFL football is a complete farce.

Well they shouldn't obviously but as a fan I believe in the even it out principle. It doesn't usually happen on almost the next play, but I figured they blew the first call so I could live with the 2nd call.

But you are right each call should be independent.

Cruz admitted it too. He told the Daily News he thought he had been touched by a defender. Then later he told the NY Times he was trying to give himself up. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to deduce that sometime after talkign to the Daily News he found out what the rule was and made sure he changed his tune before talking to the Times. Even a NY sports blog pointed out how contradictory Cruz' statements were and deduced someone had educated him on what to say as time went by after the game.
