After the te scored for the Giants they revued the play for 5 minutes. What the hell they were looking at and why it took them so long is beyond me. It was clearly a TD.
Then we get to the fumble situation and they decide a player gave himself up in about 10 seconds.
If I was the head coach I would have ran to the middle of the field and laid down until somebody reviewed and clarified just what the hell "Gave himself Up" means.
Even if he gave himself up, which he didn't, a Cardinal player would have to touch him to down him unless it was a QB.

It is the most pathetic call I have ever seen.
The second most pathetic call of the day was not calling a time out with 4th a two to make sure of the play you want and the right personel on the field. Nice to see we die on the 30 yard line with a time out in the bank.

Man up Whiz.....you blew that situation.

Of course.

Not a mention of it anywhere.

If this was the Patriots ? Oh, they would be giving out the refs phone number.

Tony Dungy said it was a bad call.......Rodney Harrison only focussed on Eli Manning.

Dan Patrick agreed with Dungy.

.

Giving yourself up IS a rule, it's not just the QB that can do it. I saw it called last year I think on MNF.

but they said then exactly what Pereira said on FOX, it's specific, sliding down or clearly falling down intentionally to stop the clock, he didn't do that he lost his footing.

Patriots did get this call last year against the Chargers. Charger player did same thing...and NE recovered and got the ball.

When we say we shouldn't have been in that position in the first place, we make it sound like we should be dominating the Giants. Sure, we didn't have the redzone efficiency we should have, but we're a rebuilding team. And if we get the right call, the game is over. We were up by 3 and caused a turnover, but the ref thought otherwise. The Giants are a solid team and we played them well.

It was a bad call but we had PLENTY of chances to close this came out offensively and defensively. To say "we caused a turnover" is quite a stretch. You cant blame this loss on that call, or lack there of.

Not surprised.

But, in all fairness the Cardinals should know by now that is is always 12 vs 11. We are just not as good as we were two years ago when we could over come the Cowboys, AND the refs to wins games.

As I said, our team did a lot to lose that game, but they didn't deserve to lose like that.

Uh, I think you can.

We didn't cause the turnover.

But the Giants made a mistake, and our players jumped on the ball.

Thus we deserve the ball, and the game. The game is both mental and physical.

Mentally, on that play, we beat the Giants, and should have won the game.

The refs then took it away from us. No two ways about it.

Save the "other reason we lost the game" for the other threads. I agree there was A LOT our team did, and specifically our regressing QB, to lose that game.

But, they didn't deserve to lose a game like that.

Beanie didn't deserve it, Washington didn't deserve it, our TE's didn't deserve it, Fitz didn't deserve it, and our DL didn't deserve it.

It is horse crap.

I don't agree. That call was the difference in the game. How anyone can argue otherwise is beside me.

that play was a GIFT and you know what, it was a bad break. that doesn't mean the team has to ROLL OVER AND PLAY DEAD after. And that's literally what happened on the very next play.

and the offense's last possession... holy crap.

sorry cbus... we got hosed on a call and then QUIT. that's not winning football. that's what losers do and that's what this team is. a bunch of losers for the most part.

I agree the defesne should have kept their head in the game. But,they got totally hosed. I'm sure you have played games where a big play goes against you. It takes a bit to overcome the call. In retropsect, Whiz should have caled a TO to refocus the defense. Everything was a blur. The Cards think they have the game won, but no, some ref make a BS call. Especially with a young DB corp.
The last possession was on Kolb. He's now choked in 2 straight games.

Not arguing it wasnt a bad call, just that we could have put that game away a number of times before that.

On the same token you know if the receiver realized nobody touched him and ran for a TD you know it would have been ruled a touchdown.

REFS do decide games

Refs dont decide games, players do.

F U CARDINALS!

U R WORTHLESS

DID you even see the game? It was a fumble. I predict the Cardinals will get another apology letter. Horrible call that has been called correctly in at least 3 or 4 other occassions in the NFL. The league should step in real time from National headquarters and stop this **** from happening. The NFL rules guy on Fox said it was the incorrect call. The game was over if called correctly.

It was a fumble, a terrible call and the Cards got screwed.

BUT, they had plenty of time to drive the ball down the field and win the game. Due to the terrible play calling and execution by the players on the field, Mr. Happy Feet Kolb in particular, it all unravelled.

I have no confidence that even if the right call was made that the Cards wouldn't pass 3 times and punt, running off 20 seconds and then the Giants just march right down and win anyway!

This team is terribly coached and the play calling is simply atrocious.

When I saw the guy fumble and really thought we were going to get the ball, in the 5 seconds before I realized they could get screwed out of it, this thought ran through my head.

you're right. Th eplayer gave himslef up as he was trying for more yardage but tripped. WTF

Had he gotten up and run for a TD, no one would have batted an eye. Total BS call. Even the Giants fans in the stadium knew it.

Just tack that letter on the wall next to the others.

I agree with you guys. The refs have been ****en terrible this season. How the heck can seasoned refs make the wrong call in that situation? Yup, I hate zebras.

Gentlemen,

I will present to you exhibit A.

When gohard83 comes on this board, and says we are all right about something, well it speaks for itself.

Good teams overcome bad calls!

I'm too lazy to read thru 5 pages of comments, but this team should have won despite the bad call. Poor QB play, another 4th quarter defensive collapse, numerous penalties, and horrible coaching decision(s) cost the Cardinals this game. To lay it at the referee's doorstep is very convenient, but not totally honest IMO. Three consecutive losses that should have been wins is extremely disappointing. I am quickly losing hope for THIS season. :(

Well, at least the Eagles are struggling big-time.

Blaming a blown call is weak. Earn the win. Make a stop. Get a first down. No excuses...

I normally agree with that but at that point in the game, it is alot harder to overcome. The Cards could have but they were put in a position of having to be 100% the rest of the way. That's not likely for any team.

How about the call, I think it was last year, when they gave the Steelers a 1st down when the measurement was clearly short. These two calls were about the worst I have seen.

Well, at least the Eagles are struggling big-time.

I watched the Raiders with the sound off yesterday while watching our game. There was a play in that game where on a deep ball to Jacoby Ford there was a clear PI by the Pats. The ref threw the flag, Ford jumped up motioning like ok nice call, and then the ref went over, picked up the flag and they apparently said there is no foul on the play. The Raiders players were incredulous it's not a reviewable play and it wasn't an uncatchable ball scenario where another ref overruled, they just picked up the flag.

So good teams don't seem to have to deal with some of these calls.

I'm not sure if Cruz meant to give himself up or not but Pereira made it QUITE clear, they call it very specifically you have to CLEARLY give yourself up by sliding or kneeling, he did neither, it's a fumble.
