Powers was targeted 15 times allowing 8 catches, which is ok. But, on some of those incompletions, he had poor position (let receivers get inside and over the top) and was flat out beat on go routes (I think it was Sanu who was a finger tip away from a long TD completion). Powers doesn't turn his head enough to know when the ball is in the air and doesn't alter the receiver's timing on the line of scrimmage. He also had three missed tackles in the game.

I think that was the play PP got hurt. It was to Green, just off his fingertips and his foot caught PP's causing him to jam his ankle.

Or was it a different play?

I'm honestly more concerned about our inability to stop anyone from scoring a TD on the goal line. According to FO, our D is allowing 5.23 points per red zone possession — 27th in the league. I don't think we're very physical inside the five.

Boy this is a tough crowd.

First Frostee was banged up most of last night and Cory Redding was inactive. Redding is a really big body for those short yardage plays.

I think we forget that the plan for the defensive line kind of got blown up when Corey Peters went down in pre-season. He was looking great too and that would have given us a more active body and has affected the overall depth.

Different play. Either Jones or Sanu. Left side.

Overall, I think the Cards did a nice job putting pressure on the QB. Their problem remains getting the QB on the ground. They seem to always get close but have trouble finishing.

I think Okafor is much more effective coming from the other side, where he had success last year. I'd like to see him and Golden switch sides as Golden seems to have a bit more speed. Why Woodley ever sees the field is beyond me.

My wife and I are heroes for putting up with the drunks in front of us. They were season ticket holders, all 50+ years old who acted like Johnny Manziel, hardly watched the game and kept holding up a sign blocking our view. The sign said 'Frostee MVP' lmao. I mean, I like Frostee as much as the next guy, but rilly, rilly? There was an elderly lady behind me that kept begging me to tell them to shut up and put the sign away, but I let well enough alone.

Luckily they left with about 5min left in the game, saying the Cards will lose like they always do, huh?? The people on either side of us were 20 something couples who drove from Flag for the game. Who knows if they'll ever come back. I've had seats with raucous crowds before and I've done my share of drinking so I'm not afraid of it, but these people were idiots.

Rant over.

Go Redbirds!! My voice is back today! 9er beat down next!

Just now reading this...nice list. Hard to disagree with any of it. Our ILBs guess on short yardage gaps, and filling gaps in general which is why they are invisible in a lot of those plays. Neither are good fits, and both are liabilities overall.

Agree that this team needs more productions from Okafor and Campbell. Though I believe that we are seeing Okafor getting more attention from teams which is showing his limitations. Also, I have always felt that campbell's lean frame highlights a lesser degree of power in his game. IMO, that is the difference between him and Watt.

Bettcher just needs to figure out what he wants to do. He rotates between being very conservative and very aggressive, and it comes off very reactive.
