Heroes:
Patrick Peterson coming back from injury. Playing shut-down football. Calling for the defense to show up on Monday. The guy is a stud.

Larry Fitzgerald: At least on the radio call, it sounded like when the Cards were able to move the ball on critical downs, he was the guy making the catch.

Arians for calling that last pass play to eat up the remaining Niner timeouts. That was gutsy.

Goats:
Larsen: Now we know why he shouldn't be an everyday player.

Cat-Man: One day, a missed XP is going to lose us a game.

Butler: Oh no! He sucks again!

Haven't read your write up yet, but thought was a good place for this. Peter King nominated no other than Tony Jefferson as defensive player of the week.

Tony Jefferson, safety, Arizona. In a game that was closer than it should have been—Arizona 19, San Francisco 13—the Cardinals got three big plays from Jefferson, the combo-platter inside linebacker/safety. He forced a fumble, had five tackles and on the last Niner drive of the day sacked Blaine Gabbert for a 10-yard loss and shared a tackle on San Francisco’s desperate final play. This was not the vintage Cardinals’ defensive performance, but the Arizona secondary comes up big game after game, and not just in coverage—physical big plays too.

Agree with these. BA said in his Monday presser however, that the pass play to seal the game wasn't the play he called--he said Palmer saw the safety playing off so changed the call at the line. Said it was a great adjustment by Palmer and what he expects. Great stuff.

They are the WORST. Barber doesn't have a clue there are multiple members of this board who provide more insight and interesting commentary than he does.

Just like one of the plays that those guys hilighted, the Running play on first down after the Cards failed to convert 4th down. HB makes a great play and the analysis they provide of that play is... You know Ty Matthews got kicked out of high school? That's why he is the face of the franchise!

Get ready for more dazzling football insight this Sunday. Like after Larry catches a TD pass he will say; "You know, the interesting thing about Leon Fitzgerald is that he really likes Ice Cream Sandwiches." And if PP21 makes a pick he will probably say; "You know, what made that play work is the fact that Patrick Pendergraph is a Scorpio and he was born on a Tuesday."

Solid football insight that you can only get from Barber.

I wonder what this forum would be like if we were 2-9?

I can appreciate the concerns we all have and we are in an enviable position to nitpick our shortcomings. But geez Louise let's take a deep breath and enjoy the fact of where we are at.

This board was filled with concerns about this game. Coming off two HUGE prime time wins I expected a bit of a letdown and I would have taken the poinys if I was a betting man. It was also a team we embarrassed a few weeks back. Let's give them a little credit for their scrappy effort.

Like it or not we are not going to blow out our opponents and score 30 plus points every week. Two or three years ago this team would have blown this game one way or another.

9-2...I'm diggin it!

This. If we were 11-0 people would still find fault & complain about certain players or play calling. ;)

To me, the biggest was unquestionably Rashard Johnson. He was out of position numerous times. It's hard to tell exactly what coverage was called but, from watching on TV, he was flat out awful this game.

Just because we are 9-2 doesn't mean this team is without flaws. We are discussing the flaws so this team can step up a notch to compete with the elite teams come playoff time. Making mistakes like we do can and will catch up to us at some point.

Looking through rose colored glasses and thinking all is well is not reality in the NFL. Other teams are constantly working to improve and fine tune.

My main concern again is the interior of the Oline. They got worked hard this game.

Larsen needs to sit and be replaced by Watford. We need to find a center in the offseason that doesn't get blown back on pass plays and run plays. Even Iupati got worked.

I don't believe this. I truly think most forum members are terribly happy and enthusiastic, but winning increases expectations and hopes. Before, we just wanted to make the playoffs, now we're wondering if we can win the whole thing and if not then why is that, what's our weakness? That's all it is.

Exactly, it is a DISCUSSION board, not a cheerleading board.

I swear some people think the only reason we're all signed up here is to post GO CARDINALS! We're here to talk football.

Can you be a hero based on one play? One play/guy that is getting no mention is Jermain Gresham. I thought his effort to get the first down on the game winning drive was a huge play in the game.

Of course, his penalty earlier put the Cards in a hole. He more than made up for it though.

I think it's more about the opponent. The Cards are still very much a regional team — this may change next year — but pulling away in the NFC West doesn't make this a fundamentally interesting matchup for the nation, and national games get the top crews.

I for one find the nit picking refreshing....

how many decades have we all wondered WHEN is this team going to get a decent o-line,...or a REAL NFL RB.....

now we are nit picking specific plays within a game,...and even two backs down we are better at RB than we were in week one of many seasons...

we are five deep at WR when many years in the past we were lucky to have a decent tandem....

we have real TE's....and they fight for yardage...( YEE ****ING HAW)

we have a QB with 10 pound balls who likes to throw 50 yards downfield...instead of one of our B grade RB's leading the team in receptions ............. because...captain checkdown

our D Line is depleted by injury...our LB's ooze average, and we still have a top 5 defense because we have more than one NFL player in our defensive backfield......oh yeah,...and apparently a legit coaching staff too

nit picking specific plays from a game, especially a bad game...is so much better than being the retirement home for NFL has beens.......and wondering every week when the real NFL is going to come to the valley.

Damn that kicker!

As great of a game as the Arizona-Seattle game was, I heard it scored the lowest ratings (# of viewers) of all of the Sunday night games in 2015. The NFL likes money, so they're always going to feature the teams that drive the highest ratings - which means those games get the best broadcasting and officiating crews. Of course, every now and then the NFL has to keep it real by featuring a low ratings, competitive team like the Cardinals. So they'll do it. But not often and they won't like it.
