Bump - did anyone watch the Vikings game and think that Dobbs will be a big upgrade over Tune/Blough? It would be one thing if they were falling all over themselves, but both again showed well.
Didn't get to see it as we were at a fair and some duck races in New Mexico.

Followed along on my phone and loved that we came back to beat them or let them beat themselves.

The entire board, the entire media, the team itself? Did you just come out of a coma? We are the OVERWHELMING favorites to have the #1 pick.

If you can't honestly admit that this season is a tank job, there is no scenario that will fit your criteria.

This may come as a shock to you - even terrible teams have people show up and appear to work! This isn't a participation trophy league!

The board's and the entire media's opinion, plus two-bucks buys a cheap cup of coffee.

Show us a quote from Monti, JG or anyone who collects a cheque from the Cards saying or even intimating that the team is deliberately tanking.

You're right, 'it isn't a participation trophy league', and that's why they put in the hours, the effort to win.

At the risk of causing a shock leading to a coma, it's why the team keeps a PRATER around.

No way....you're saying the team didn't come out and say in a press conference that they're tanking? That's what teams that are tanking always do!

If you want some good quotes from tanking teams acting like they're not tanking, I can find you some...there are thousands of them.

I seem to recall that unlamented Steve Keim brought in one of those types when Prater went down and it cost us two games.

You get what you pay for.
You're comparing the decision of an injury replacement midseason to choosing Prater above all other options in the offseason.

You honestly can't understand the difference between the two?

The Kicker they can’t depend on health wise and isn’t an above average kicker any more? Yeah… that shows they are all in on winning!

Right… except we’re not even getting what we pay for because Prater is ancient, can’t be depended on health wise and is an average kicker.

Thanks but no thanks! I can't believe I'm seriously engaging with someone who doesn't understand that teams don't announce they're tanking.

You're right; they wouldn't announce it.

Monti and JG are phonies when they talk about establishing a winning culture, and all the players are either in on the 'tank' or too dumb to understand that 2023 is all a con.

Thanks for the enlightenment.

I should take the McCoy cut as another subliminal sign of the 'tanking,' I guess.

He's on a two-year deal.

His birth certificate isn't relevant to the job requirement.

And the all-time leader in 50-yard+ field goals, who can still do it, is not average.

They mentioned the other day that Prater had a rough pre-season last year, but then had his best FG % regular season, since 2015. There's recent evidence that he is capable of turning it around and at least being competent one more year.

I love that you're so locked into that fun fact. I keep looking for rankings that list Prater as average - that might be optimistic. Most having him somewhere in the 20's.

Seems like an odd guy to invest in if he's not great, but what do I know!

LOL... okay... just bury your head in the sand about an old Kicker, who's now injury prone to boot. Stuff like injuries usually go away as players get older, right? Oh... wait.

yeah he is. he's average, the team was afraid to kick mid-40s FGs with him last year and so far, he's been completely atrocious in the pre-season. even calling him average right now is being kind based on what we've seen with our own eyes in the last month.

Don't get your shorts in a knot.

Look at it as part of the 'tanking' plan that so many favour or don't depending on the latest transaction.

Lol… solid retort to facts laid in front of you. Thank you for letting me know you officially have no good argument to make here.

Can’t do that. If this is a year for evals of young players, K is definitely one position they should be looking at instead of trotting out Prater’s warmed up corpse every week. Or every week that he’s healthy.

Fact: Cards don't agree with you. He's on a two-year deal.

Looking forward to you revisiting this issue during the season, whenever he misses one.

'Crickets', I'll bet when he succeeds.
